Join us at the Foundry Art Centre for this exciting 6 week drawing course presented by artist Beena McMahan! In this introductory drawing workshop, students will go over basic skills that will help them learn to draw from life. They will also be introduced to topics such as contour lines, tone and shading, simplifying complex items into shapes, and perspective. Students will work in various materials such as pencil, charcoal, marker, and ink. All supplies provided. These project-based lessons are designed to teach students about the principles of art. They will participate in a variety of projects using different media like mixed media, sculpture, drawing, and painting. Students will begin a basic understanding of the elements and principles of art seen in both their own art and others’ including many famous artists in history. This is a very fun and active class for eager kids!

Learn the fundamentals of art making using drawing and painting. Use a variety of materials and explore the world of drawing and painting portraits, still life, and even your own imagination in this class! This class will focus on refining your painting and drawing skills while exploring color, texture, and materials.

Creative Movement is specially designed for preschool students. This course explores both the creative and physical dimensions of each child as they gain awareness of music, rhythm, and movement. Classwork is designed to develop strength, coordination, creative thinking, and expression.

Our 30 week youth dance program offers an entire school year of instruction in the art of dance. The Spring Dance Rehearsal is May 20, and the Recital is May 21 at 6 PM at the Keating Performing Arts Center at Kirkwood High School.

Children will be introduced to dance techniques as well as improve coordination and flexibility while enjoying different types of music.

This new program is offered exclusively to 6th - 9th grade students! Critters & Crypts is our weekly Dungeons & Dragons group. Journey on quests with a nature-based flair, using characters and dice. No experience is required. Dice and characters are provided. This is a primarily indoor program. Each session is 8 weeks. Limited to 8 students.

Giving your 2 year old the opportunity to learn and grow. Our program provides a safe and loving environment where they can develop socially and emotionally. We are a play based class with many opportunities to paint, play with dough, music, circle time, fine & gross motor skills & fun projects to create, then take home.

This class incorporates basic ballet and jazz steps into age appropriate exercises and dances. Children will develop strength and coordination in a fun, nurturing environment. Appropriate dancewear, such as a leotard with a skirt and tights are recommended. The children will need any color ballet and jazz shoes. A $25 deposit/registration fee will be charged upon registration. This session's class begins September 8.
