Learning to code becomes collaborative, active, and joyful! Use Unruly Splats (programmable floor buttons) to code and play sports-themed games that teach computational thinking skills, teamwork, and ingenuity through movement and play! Work together to brainstorm, code, and test creative new versions of Splats games, building teamwork and design skills. We’ll be moving, thinking, and laughing while they develop real coding skills with minimal screen time. Perfect for kids of all experience levels, beginners and young coders welcome.

Campers use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut and solve real-world engineering problems, just like NASA astronauts working together on a mission. They will think and act as NASA engineers as they work with a team to make a pasta rover, parachute, and more! They'll learn about other spin off technology used on earth today. Then, they'll even create a storyboard and presentation to share their spinoff project and work on their science communication skills.

Note: This camp is for boys enterting grades 2-5.

Get ready to blast off into the world of rockets and discover the amazing science behind them. You'll become a rocket safety superstar by learning all about the model rocket safety code. You'll also uncover the secrets of how rockets soar through the sky, stay perfectly balanced, and return safely to Earth. Each day, you'll get to build a rocket from a sleek and awesome Mad Science rocket kit to a rocket made of toilet paper tubes – how cool is that? You'll also be part of a real launch team! Imagine working together with your new friends as altitude trackers, launch preparers, and launchers. Every day, you'll watch in awe as we send a rocket soaring high into the sky.

Campers interested in the Theatre & Dance arts are invited to experience a week packed with theatre and dance activities including production rehearsals, daily workshops in acting, dance, and design, theatre games and improvisation. Classes are taught by UCM faculty, alumni, and select students. Every camper will receive specialized coaching to help them reach their theatrical goals and to exercise the aspect of theatre that most interests them.

From sea creatures of the deep to phoenixes in the sky, every society has its legends and lore. We’ll tell their stories through paintings, sculptures and other works of art. Each day, kids learn about a different legend and create a unique art project based on that myth. These legends may inspire awe, curiosity or surprise, but they all inspire our imaginations! Let your imagination soar as you explore myths from diverse cultures and tell your own stories. Experiment with different art techniques using Crayola® supplies to bring your ideas to life. Each day is all about designing a one-of-a-kind mythical creature.

The Portfolio Plus Program invites high school students to take college-level art and design courses. You will spend your mornings learning the fundamentals of drawing and your afternoons pursuing a studio concentration of your choice: communication design, fashion design, or studio art. With guidance from Sam Fox School faculty, you will work throughout our intensive three-week program to develop strong portfolios for college admission. Studio work is rounded out by field trips, tours, and lectures from local artists and designers, as well as a workshop on college admissions.

Embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure - explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there, from the Americas to the Ivory Coast, from the cosmopolitan to the countryside. Make a different masterpiece each day, including a dot art canvas, a mud art painting on fabric, and an imperial Russian egg! Bring the unique creations home and build a globally-inspired art gallery.

Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola® products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mixed media. Discover design careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and product design. All this, plus games, creative free play, and more!

Our residential engineering camp offers an immersive, hands-on experience where participants dive into the exciting and ever-evolving world of engineering through innovation. Throughout the camp, participants will tackle engaging projects, collaborative challenges, and real-world problem-solving opportunities that showcase the many possibilities within STEM. Living on campus, campers will experience college life firsthand, building friendships and developing leadership skills while exploring creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. With guidance from experienced mentors and access to cutting-edge facilities, campers will discover how engineering shapes the world around us and be inspired to imagine their own future pathways. This camp provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the breadth of engineering while igniting a passion for discovery, design, and innovation. Residential camps are only available to rising junior through senior year high school students.

The Med-Start Health Careers Program is a six-week summer academic enrichment program focused on improving competitive readiness for admissions into health professions programs for high school students. High school students reside at a University of Arizona residence halls and participate in the program during the summer (beginning of June through mid-July) after their junior year. Med-Start, in collaboration with the Arizona Area Health Education Centers, helps high school students prepare for futures in the health professions by allowing them to explore career opportunities and complete college-level coursework in English, science and math. Students will gain opportunities to participate in professional lectures, health-related field trips and hands-on lab experiences while living on campus.
