College for Kids is a residential summer program where gifted students in grades 3-9 can explore their passions and unlock their full potential. As the preeminent music camp in Missouri, the UCM Summer Music Camp & Piano Institute offers young musicians an opportunity to immerse themselves in music study while having a ton of fun. Camp activities for all musicians will be anchored in private lessons (4) and dynamic mixed ensemble experience (instrumental or choral), along with a daily performance workshop tailored to their area. They will also be able to choose from a selection of classes in the areas of music theory, technology, and history. Pianists will be especially excited to see the return of our evening-length Monster Sight Reading Party (repertoire to be posted in March 2025), which has been a highlight of the camp week for three and a half decades! Students whose primary interest is electronic music composition will be able to take advantage of our world-class Music Technology faculty and facilities!

Campers interested in exploring Studio Art, Design, and Illustration are invited to experience the UCM Art & Design Camp! Campers will have options to work on painting technique, draw from the live model, sample a variety of printmaking processes, and gain an introduction in illustration concepts. Classes are taught by faculty and alumni in the Division of Art & Design at UCM.

Our rigorous two-week program offers intensive individual instruction by Sam Fox School faculty. The explorations carried out provide you with quality material to add to your design portfolios.

Embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure - explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there, from the Americas to the Ivory Coast, from the cosmopolitan to the countryside. Experiment with Crayola® products, while trying art techniques developed by local artists and artisans. Bring the unique creations home and build a globally-inspired art gallery.

UC Santa Barbara's Summer Research Academies offer a dynamic summer experience that engages qualified high school students in project-based, directed research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences fields. Students will take a 4-unit university course in which they choose and develop a research topic specific to the track they select, under the direction of an instructor who is conducting active research in that field. Students will develop academic and professional skills by presenting their research findings in a capstone seminar, networking with peers, and experiencing university life in a challenging environment. The GRIT talks lecture series will connect students to some of the best minds within the UC Santa Barbara research community as they present their ground-breaking research and innovative technology. Along with these academic benefits, students will be immersed in university life and network with equally ambitious and curious peers.
