Get ready to blast off into the world of rockets and discover the amazing science behind them. You'll become a rocket safety superstar by learning all about the model rocket safety code. You'll also uncover the secrets of how rockets soar through the sky, stay perfectly balanced, and return safely to Earth. Each day, you'll get to build a rocket from a sleek and awesome Mad Science rocket kit to a rocket made of toilet paper tubes – how cool is that? You'll also be part of a real launch team! Imagine working together with your new friends as altitude trackers, launch preparers, and launchers. Every day, you'll watch in awe as we send a rocket soaring high into the sky.

Note: This is a half-day programs. Descriptions included here are for full-day camps. Half-day camps will contain fewer activities.

Ever dream of becoming a secret agent? We'll start with the basics: From decoding messages to metal detector and night vision, campers have the opportunity to check out spy tech equipment and take home lots of gadgets like spy glasses! Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis! Figure out the science of forensics in a hands-on look at crime scenes! Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks as we take a hands-on investigation of the science that spies use!

This camp is located in the St. Louis Carousel building at Faust Park.

Discover the inspiring artworks and artists who have changed the world of art, and the world as we know it - from Frida Kahlo’s self-portraits to Keith Haring’s street art. Experiment with art techniques, and use Crayola® art supplies to express your ideas. Design a different unique, artist-inspired creation each class. Create the change you want to see in the world!

Jul 19 - 25, 2026 | Ages: 15 - 17
Through a combination of lectures, discussion, and hands-on activities, students will learn about developing interpersonal, leadership, and academic skills. The program will also explore the process for highly-selective university admissions with the guidance of WashU admissions officers. Students will be exposed to the kinds of academic and professional development opportunities available in an urban center through group activities, including social activities, that showcase the city of St. Louis. The all-expenses-paid program will be hosted on WashU’s campus. All food, housing, and activities will be provided free of charge. Program participants must reside in on-campus housing for the duration of the program. Participants can apply for funding to cover travel expenses.

Our residential engineering camp offers an immersive, hands-on experience where participants dive into the exciting and ever-evolving world of engineering through innovation. Throughout the camp, participants will tackle engaging projects, collaborative challenges, and real-world problem-solving opportunities that showcase the many possibilities within STEM. Living on campus, campers will experience college life firsthand, building friendships and developing leadership skills while exploring creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. With guidance from experienced mentors and access to cutting-edge facilities, campers will discover how engineering shapes the world around us and be inspired to imagine their own future pathways. This camp provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the breadth of engineering while igniting a passion for discovery, design, and innovation. Residential camps are only available to rising junior through senior year high school students.

Astronomy Camp engages students through doing. It is an immersive experience that reinforces school subjects and cultivates an understanding STEM career possibilities. Through hands-on activities and talks on topics from the Solar System to Cosmology, Campers develop skills in quantitative reasoning, problem solving, data collection, and experimentation. We also use research observatories, and equipment, which have given Tucson the title “Astronomy Capital of the World.” And Camp never really ends! We inspire and prepare the next generation of leaders through continued access to professional mentors and Camp's alumni.

At CCA’s Pre-College Program, you’ll join a diverse group of creative thinkers and makers who share your passion for art and design. The program is open to all interested participants, those with little art and design experience and those with advanced skills. We offer on-campus housing as well as meal plans for residential and commuter students. Participants will have the opportunity to take studio-focused, college-level courses to help push beyond concepts to portfolio-ready pieces while earning 3 college credits.
