Artists learn about contemporary and historical artists, interact with special guests, explore the woodland creek and trails, create unique works of art, and build friendships. Each session is structured around a specific set of materials and techniques to encourage exploration of interests through hands-on experiences. In this session, experience life drawing to develop a better understanding of a wide range of human proportions and facial features, then create expressive portraits and design your own unique characters. Artists are divided into different teams by age. Teen artists ages 13-15 may enroll in Art Squad and/or the Creative Workshop Series. Teen artists 16+ are welcome to inquire about Art Squad. Art Squad is based outdoors on the Carriage House deck and in the indoor studios of the Kranzberg Education Lab, with some time spent inside the Aronson Fine Arts Center. Artists enrolled in Art Squad are eligible to participate in both before and after care for an added fee. Before and after care offers flexibility for families with varied schedules. Our experienced before and after care staff provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for all artists who participate. Scholarship applications are open through April 1.
