Each four-hour session has a unique focus, with materials ranging from clay, to ink, to paint; all materials are included. Teen artists may choose to enroll in one, several, or all sessions offered. This program takes place in the indoor studios of the Kranzberg Education Lab, with some activities happening outdoors on the Park grounds. Summer Apprenticeships are a fun and fulfilling way for teens to gain valuable work experience by learning art, education, and outdoor skills from our experienced Summer Programs staff at no cost to families. Summer Apprenticeships are available in a variety of schedules and can help fulfill volunteer credit hour requirements. We will work with families to determine a schedule and tasks that fit their teen’s needs and the needs of our programs, whether teens are available to participate the entire summer or just for several days. Apprenticeship applications are open to 15- to 18-year-olds from mid-February through mid-May. Teen artists ages 15-18 are welcome to enroll in both the Creative Workshop Series and apply to be a Summer Apprentice. Teen artists ages 13-15 may enroll in Art Squad and/or the Creative Workshop Series.
