In each 45-minute class we use will use a thought-provoking storybook to engage children in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) challenges, exploration and play. Little engineers will learn science and math concepts as they design and create solutions to problems connected to the characters in the story or their everyday lives.

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts. Discover what Hooty the owl had for dinner? Kids will dissect owl pellets and reconstruct Hooty’s dinner. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines, and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of light and photography. It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

From sea creatures of the deep to phoenixes in the sky, every society has its legends and lore. We’ll tell their stories through paintings, sculptures and other works of art. These legends may inspire awe, curiosity or surprise, but they all inspire our imaginations!

Join us for a week-long, hands-on STEM camp designed to inspire young learners by exploring the groundbreaking achievements and contributions of female scientists throughout history. Each day will feature exciting activities, experiments, and challenges that highlight the work of influential women in fields like chemistry, space exploration, biology, and engineering. Campers will engage in science investigations, design their own projects, and discover how these remarkable women shaped the world of STEM. Through interactive lessons and creative problem-solving, we’ll encourage curiosity, teamwork, and a growth mindset, empowering the next generation of trailblazers!

Young artists have fun learning through age-appropriate lessons while exploring their own interests and questions. Weekly activities include guided art projects, trail walks, creek exploration, loose parts play, building structures, reading, group games, and sketchbook time. Little Buds Art Camps are based outdoors on the covered Carriage House deck, with some time spent inside the Aronson Fine Arts Center.

Get ready to stand up for yourself and others this week as we experience the power of art as activism! As an artist, you will have the opportunity to choose a cause that is important to you and to use your creative strength to advocate for change. As a team, we will work with local organizations to support our community and discover the joy of “artivism”! Note: We will be learning about and celebrating Juneteenth and World Refugee Day this week.

Gear up for an exciting week of discovery! We’ll use science, technology, engineering, art, and math to explore the outdoors, learning about inventions that use natural materials and running experiments with creek water, plants, and sunlight. As stewards of the land, our sustainable art will give back to nature!

Plant seeds, care for mini gardens, and learn about farm animals through sensory bins, songs, and crafts. Activities include creating veggie art, building a pretend farmers’ market, and enjoying “tractor” rides (pull wagons).

Embark on a journey to discover animals from around the world! Learn about furry, feathery, and scaly friends through songs, crafts, and pretend play. Activities include creating animal masks, crafting mini habitats, and an animal-themed parade.

Embark on a swashbuckling adventure with treasure maps, pirate hats, and ocean crafts. Campers will make pirate ships and host a treasure hunt.
