A new opportunity from Youth Theatre! Priority registration will be given to students not already registered for the spring musical. This revue will consist of solos, duets, and group numbers from various musicals in the American Musical Theatre Canon The revue will be a half-hour compilation of song and dance and be featured during the Youth Theatre's spinning run.

SIUE Theater and Dance hosts two weeks of K-8 acting, singing and dancing classes culminating in three public performances in Dunham Hall!

The SIUE East St. Louis Performing Arts Summer Enrichment Program will train students in various artistic expressions including but not limited to dance and music. Students will be exposed to performance opportunities through educational programing as we continue the legacy of the renowned icon, Ms. Katherine Dunham.

Each year The Black Rep provides an 8-week arts intensive for students ages 8-18 in the community. This program is designed to provide exciting opportunities for them to express themselves artistically through theatre, acting, visual arts, dance, movement, playwriting and music.

The perfect week long experience for dancers looking to build their choreographic skills and confidence. Students will learn improvisational exercises and choreographic tools to form the basis of a piece and develop their artistic statement and style.

Welcome to our Turn Technique Workshop, designed exclusively for intermediate to advanced level dancers ready to take their skills to the next level.

For the beginner to intermediate pointe dancer, this class helps dancers maintain and nurture their pointe skills. Dancers will focus on keeping their technical skills sharp while maintaining endurance and strength. Proper ballet warm up is also an important part of maintaining and building pointe skills, so we require attending our weekly drop in ballet class beforehand. No class week of July 4th. Class is a "drop in" format.

The Missouri Fine Arts Academy (MFAA) is a two-week summer residential program for highly motivated sophomore, junior and senior high school student artists in the disciplines of visual arts/mixed media, theatre, dance, creative writing, and music (instrumental and vocal). Students can apply for admission at: mfaa.missouristate.edu

This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of acting without working with a formal script. Through structured exercise and games, students study Concentration, Observation, Given Circumstances, and Stage Awareness. Students will create their own performance material, exploring the physical self, space/staging, working with props, and ensemble and interplay with fellow actors. The coursework is very physical and creative. The work is focused on understanding the art of acting through games, exercises, reading, discussions, and evaluations of one’s own work and the work of fellow classmates. No acting experience is required.
