Summer Scholars is a program offered through the SLU School of Medicine for high school students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. It is a three week program where students are introduced to various specialties, hands-on activities, and ACT Prep. Our students will participate in a community service project as well as complete a research project that will be presented at the culminating event of the program.

Through workshops, guest speakers, and field trips, students will gain hands-on experience and observe first-hand what it is like to be a lawyer. Students will observe court proceedings, and also interact with judges, lawyers, and law students. Students will learn trial advocacy skills and the week will culminate with a mock trial competition followed by an awards ceremony and reception with family and friends.

Mr. Boyd teaches the wonderful game of chess to students of all ability levels! You do not need to have any prior chess knowledge to join this camp. Higher level strategies are taught to those who are ready for them. You’ll learn chess tournament rules and compete in tournament play!

Fight the summer slump with FUNdamentals. Customized for each age group, this will get your child back in the swing before school starts! All ages will experience sports, French, art, and recess, as well as differentiated academics- all taught by experienced Community School faculty and staff.

Come learn about the fascinating Roman and Greek gods and goddesses. I bet you’ve heard of some of the famous – and infamous! – characters already. These myths were a huge part of ancient times and have been passed down over generations. We’ll explore the times, people, and their stories.
