Give your preschooler a green thumb without using paint! Campers will learn about plants by dissecting seeds, making leaf rubbings and creating frameable fruit and veggie prints. Learn what types of weather are vital for a healthy garden. Put on your Bee-utiful Bug Costume and flutter by the camp as you learn about one of a flower's favorite pollinators! After learning the model rocket safety code, campers will build different types of rockets and participate in rocket launches during the week-long program. Children will be divided into three groups: altitude trackers, launch preparers, and launchers for rocket launches and will get the opportunity to try different roles. We recommend this camp for children entering 2nd - 5th grade; however, children entering kindergarten and 1st grade will enjoy it as well with a little more help from fellow campers or instructors. After-School Classes further enhance a student’s After Care experience. Seasonal sessions typically run 4–6 weeks; pricing is variable based on the subject area and program length. Offerings include (but are not limited to!) study hall, tennis, dance, golf, chess, and more, plus Girls on the Run each spring. Classes are taught at Forsyth by current and former faculty and staff members or outside partner vendors (examples include Frontenac Racquet Club, St. Louis Scott Gallagher, etc.). Family may also arrange private art lessons, music lessons, and tutoring directly with Forsyth faculty members.

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Together, campers will build a geodesic dome large enough to sit in. Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts with bird feeder building and our super bug investigation. Speaking of birds, what did Hooty the Owl have for dinner? A mouse? A squirrel? A frog? Kids will dissect owl pellets and reconstruct Hooty’s dinner. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions to create cool sidewalk chalk and bath fizzers! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and simple machines. Registration deadline is 5/30.
