Drury University is happy to offer a summer experience for gifted students. Courses are taught by highly qualified, effective teachers who understand and use both enrichment and acceleration. Courses are hands-on, activity oriented, and highly motivating. The goals of Summer Pals and Summer Quest are: To provide opportunities for students to interact with peers of similar academic abilities and interests To encourage students to use their intellectual and creative abilities in new and exciting ways To allow students to pursue areas of interest they would not have a chance to study elsewhere

The Joseph Baldwin Academy is a three-week residential program on the Truman State University campus that offers an academically challenging curriculum for students that have completed grades 7-9. This summer academy introduces highly talented middle and junior high students to college life in general. Live in a residence hall and adapt to living with a roommate; Select one class offered in an area of the liberal arts, including the humanities, fine arts, natural sciences, and social sciences; and Work with exceptional teachers, engage in the Truman community, and make new friends from around the country.

Calling all homeschool families! Elementary sessions require a parent or guardian to attend with their child. Learn about limnology – the study of freshwater! Conduct hands-on science by dipping into our vernal pools in search of macroinvertebrates. You’ll also play a fast-paced game all about our macro friends.

Tiny Trekkers is a weekly drop off program for ages 3 – 5. Preschoolers will explore our nearly 500 acres of preserve through hands-on experiences out in nature. This program takes place every Tuesday from 9 – 11:30 am, September through May. Tiny Trekkers is a great complement to part time preschool programs, as preparation for entering preschool or kindergarten, or even as an addition to a PreK/K homeschool program. Children must be able to use the restrooms independently. Limited spots are available.

Bring your little one for Reggio-inspired forest play. Various invitations will be offered to spark your child’s curiosity, creativity, and problem solving skills. Ages 18 months - 6 years are invited to these special play days. All activities take place around the playground. This is an open-house style program – feel free to arrive and leave at any time between 9 - 11 am. FREE for members and non-members. Donations appreciated to assist with supply purchases for this program!

Would you like to give back to your community? Come and pick up trash to keep our St. Charles County parks looking beautiful! Not only is trash an eyesore, but it can hurt the environment and the animals that call our parks home. Join our Park Rangers this fall and help clean up the waterways in various parks. Dress for the weather. Bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes or boots; no flip flops or sandals. Trash is messy! Wear something that can get dirty. Long pants and insect repellent are recommended. This clean up will take place at Riverside Landing Park cleaning up along the banks of Dardenne Creek and the Mississippi River, weather permitting. You may encounter uneven surfaces, mud, rocks, and various other tripping hazards.

Are you looking for a fun summer activity for your kids? Tye-Dyed Iguana offers a one week summer camp in house! During our camp, your child will be immersed in a world of exotic reptiles and bugs through hands-on education and demonstrations. They will spend five days in our store doing crafts and learning about animals. They will also receive a Tye-Dyed Iguana T-shirt that the entire class will Tie-Dye during one of their afternoons. Summer camp is for Kindergarten - 6th grade.
