Cosplay is the creation of costumes and accessories to reflect a manga or anime character in fully realized form—including fantasy makeup. In this camp, we focus on the makeup and hair design techniques in Cosplay Makeup, using each other and our own faces as a canvas for fantastical creations. Campers leave with photographs and renderings of their designs.

Calling all artists and animal lovers. Young artists focus on drawing canine friends and raise awareness of animals in shelters. Campers also take a field trip to Saint Louis County Pet Adoption to draw some furry friends in person. Art for Paws concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Camp price includes field trip.

Campers draw, paint, and print using diverse materials and techniques. We explore each of these disciplines while looking to master artists as inspiration for their work. We create several pieces of art in each area—drawing, painting, and printmaking—adding imagination and creativity to make our own personal masterpieces. Draw Paint Print concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Campers use sew and "no sew" techniques to transform basic or found clothing into enchanting combinations worthy of a princess. Add a floor length skirt or fancy wrap and embellish your clothes with gems, beads, and trim. Add accessories to style your outfit and share your transformation on the final day of camp.

We look to some incredible female superheroes to inspire our girl power: Shuri who masters technology, Black Canary who harnesses the power of her voice, and don't forget Captain Marvel—the most powerful superhero of all time—who absorbs energy and has a seventh sense! We prepare for battle with super obstacle courses, make capes and masks, and read stories about our favorite heroines! Girl Power concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers are expected to be fully toilet trained and use the toilet independently. Features multiple professional teaching artists to present a variety of arts disciplines.

Aspiring dancers learn hip-hop steps and connect them with freestyle steps of their own creation to put together high-energy group choreography. Students gain an understanding of dance concepts, such as rhythm, musicality, spacing, and levels. They also create a hip-hop “crew” name and design a T-shirt. Hip-Hop Basics concludes with an in-person performance during the final 20 minutes of camp.

Define your style by creating your own song! We work with a professional songwriter to create lyrics and melodies. We also provide piano and guitar accompaniment while other campers provide back-up vocals. Camp ends with a single release party for family and friends. Campers then rehearse their songs and record them at Clayton Studios.

In this camp, we learn how to create rhythms and melodies in a variety of styles from rock and pop to jazz, classical, and hip-hop. Campers explore a combination of software instruments, pre-programmed loops, and their own voices to produce songs! We also have the opportunity to use iPads as live instruments, as we participate in jam sessions with other campers. Through this musical journey, we explore the fundamentals of musical composition, improvisation, and how to have fun using technology to make music! Campers receive a copy of the songs they create during camp. iPads provided by COCA. Art and technology supplies and equipment use included in price. Please bring your own set of earbud headphones.

This is a great introductory camp for beginning dancers interested in energetic movement. Campers learn dance steps in jazz and hip-hop; and they work on spacing, rhythm, and musicality. We then use what we learn in dynamic choreography. We even develop a few steps of our own to include in our final presented piece. Just Dance concludes with an in-person performance fir family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. No special shoes or dancewear required.

Barbie can do anything, and so can you! Become your own fashion designer and create new looks for Barbie and her friends. Learn how to draw croquis and the basics of fashion design. Campers then put their new skills to the test and bring their designs to life. Let's Go Barbie concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Use glass, stone, tile, and more to make a mosaic masterpiece. We learn the art and craft of this 4,000-year-old art form as we experiment with a range of organic and structure patterns using ancient techniques and cool new materials. We create beautiful wall hangings and stepping stones for the garden as well as personal items like boxes and picture frames. Magnificent Mosaics concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

If you love sports and musical theatre, you have fun in this camp! We focus on singing and performing sports themed songs from musicals, such as "Legendary" from Bring It On and “Get'cha Head in the Game" from High School Musical, and weave them together into our own story. Students also design their own team logos and silk screen them on uniforms to wear for a culmination on the final day for family and friends. Play ball! Musical Theatre Double Play concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. This camp highlights the creative potential in the kitchen. Each day, campers focus on one key ingredient and create three separate dishes that showcase it in vastly different ways. We might use chocolate as an ingredient in chili, a layered cake, and ice cream; or experiment with lemons in bars, vegetables, and curd. Campers drive ideas and along the way they work on basic kitchen skills and safety. Information about food restrictions or allergies must be provided to COCA during the registration process or by contacting the Registration Office by email at least two weeks prior to camp. Campers must adhere to kitchen safety rules. Campers should have their hair pulled back. All culinary supplies and groceries included in price.

Can you catch them all? Learn about your favorite Pokémon and what makes them special. Then, create your own Pokémon cards for trading and battles. Pikachu GO concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. COCA recommends leaving personal Pokémon cards at home.
