Cut, rip, layer, and paste like the greats to build your own world by collaging. Campers learn the foundations of collaging by using different mediums, such as paper, prints, and fabric, to make works of art. Working with an artist, campers create portraits and more through the art of collaging. Collaging & Crafting concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Since the beginning of skateboarding, the idea of a custom deck has always been desirable. Campers look at a range of contemporary artists, such as KAWS, Nick Walker, and Haroshi who create skateboard art, and the various influences of graphic design, pop culture, and graffiti. Campers explore mediums, including spray paint, acrylic, and print, before creating their own deck design on a skateboard they can use to either hang on a wall or ride. Deck Design concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Celebrate people who made history by dreaming big and being the first to achieve something new. Using books like Remember to Dream, Ebere; Firebird; Catching the Moon; and Ada Twist, Scientist, we learn about heroic individuals who expand thinking and break ground. We explore the accomplishments of people like Cynthia Erivo and Misty Copeland and imagine our own possible "firsts" through art, movement, and drama. Dreaming BIG concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers are expected to be fully toilet trained and use the toilet independently. Features multiple professional teaching artists to present a variety of arts disciplines.

Students create mood, concept, and inspiration boards and then focus on illustrations of their own ideas for clothes. Students develop images of a three piece collection of their own original designs. This camp focuses on the creative process and illustration behind fashion design and does not include garment construction or sewing technique. Fashion Illustration concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

May 26 - 29, 2026 12:15pm - 3:00pm | Ages: 6 - 7
Campers utilize COCA's outdoor space to investigate both real and imagined gardens. They make leaf prints; build stepping stones; and create rock mandalas, natural weavings, and watercolor flowers. They also take a turn at gardening—planting treasures in COCA's flower beds as well as some to bring home! Garden Art concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. This camp primarily takes place in an outdoor studio in COCA's courtyard but moves indoors as weather requires.

From Dali to Warhol, campers explore modern art masters and the painting techniques they used. We create masterpieces as we explore a different style of painting each day while making it our own. Campers are encouraged to apply paint like impressionists, see like cubists, create dreams like surrealists, and create work that expresses their own unique perspectives. Hello Dali concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Explore gardens through art, stories, and planting! We investigate imagined gardens through watercolor images, read books like The Tiny Seed, and create our own garden tales through dramatic play. Finally, we take a turn at gardening ourselves as we plant treasures in COCA's flower beds as well as some to bring home! In the Garden concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers are expected to be fully toilet trained and use the toilet independently. Features multiple professional teaching artists to present a variety of arts disciplines.

Creativity and technology collide in this camp for young innovators. Tinker with the inner-workings of everyday gadgets and use them to engineer new creations and solve challenges. Instructors from the Challenger Learning Center St. Louis provide expertise to help campers create and bring home a masterful "innovention." Field trip to the Challenger Learning Center St. Louis included in camp price.

Join us on a musical jungle journey! We make our own percussion instruments and create a drum circle; dance like birds, capuchin monkeys, and giraffes; read and tell lively jungle stories; and use items we gather outdoors for our creative art projects! Jungle Jammin' concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers are expected to be fully toilet trained and use the toilet independently. Don’t lose your head—campers succeed as they create fantastical, fanciful desserts and platings fit for a haughty queen. They impress their families (and satisfy their sweet tooths!) when they share their artful creations. From petit fours to fruited tarts, we bake, decorate, and plate pastries, then arrange them into stunning dessert buffets. Information about food restrictions or allergies must be provided to COCA during the registration process or by contacting the Registration Office by email at least two weeks prior to camp. Campers should have their hair pulled back. All culinary supplies and groceries included in price.

Express yourself! Students transform plain white T-shirts into a wide array of fashionable items—kimonos, dresses, and bags—that reflect a sense of personal style. They dye, cut, tie, and add design elements, including some hand sewing, fabric markers, fabric paint, beads, gems, and other decorative techniques. The possibilities are endless in this camp that develops imagination. More than a T-shirt concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.
