Portrait Drawing for the Young Artist

Working from a live model, students will learn the fundamentals of portrait drawing in charcoal and graphite. Over the course of the week, the instructor will discuss strategies for defining facial anatomy and determining light and value to resolve the image into a solid likeness. The instructor will talk about posing, light, and composition. Students will leave with a deeper appreciation for portraiture! Supplies are included in the cost of the class and students are responsible for bringing their own lunch. The increased cost of this camp goes towards model fees.
