The Young Writers Summer Online Workshops provide young writers with a dynamic and supportive environment in which they can stretch their talents, discover new strengths, and challenge themselves in the company of peers who are also passionate about writing. Our online workshops offer an intimate setting for exploring ideas, producing fresh work, discussing the craft of writing (and rewriting) with instructors and other students, and finding one’s voice in a variety of genres, including short stories, poems, and essays. These week-long workshops include daily synchronous workshops via Zoom, interspersed with solo writing time and one-on-one instructor conferences. Participants attend either the afternoon session (12:30-4:00 p.m. ET) or evening session (7:30-11:00 p.m. ET). Both sessions follow a similar multi-genre curriculum. Additional events take place most days from 6:00-7:00 p.m. ET and include readings by visiting writers, craft talks, participant readings, and informal social gatherings.
