College Preparation Academy for 9th-12th grade students!

Watch as holograms come to life in the first-ever augmented reality for kids! Students will work in cutting-edge software to create holographic scenes that are viewable with a smartphone and a magic futuristic cube. Get hands-on with your own digital creations in this one-of-a-kind experience! Student-created projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Mini STEM Camp is a two-day day camp just for Daisies and Brownies! This year campers will learn all about engineering and earn their Think Like an Engineer Journey. Camp fees include all activities during camp, age-level Think Like an Engineer Journey, fun patch, t-shirt, and snacks each day. Camp will take place from 9:00 am-3:00 pm each day. Campers will be required to pack a sack lunch each day, but snacks will be provided.

Join us for the 2024 Building Futures Summer Camp Time Travel.

Designed for Ninjas 11-14 this camp gives ninjas the opportunity to explore cryptology, practice creating and solving coded information, and create your very own escape room! Ninjas will learn different puzzle-creating techniques used throughout history and apply them to create secret messages. They will also learn to harness the power of computer programming using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade and micro: bit to write encryption and decryption programs that we will use to build an escape room mega-puzzle to play and share with fellow campers and friends.

Perennial St. Louis will lead participants in creating two crafts made out of old books!

Always wanted to be a doctor or pursue pre-med? Wake Forest’s online course is designed for high school students. You’ll get an inside look at how physicians manage patient care from ambulance to ER to aftercare. Teaching the course are Wake Forest School of Medicine professors Dr. Lindsay Strowd and Dr. Roy Strowd. Through immersive simulations, videos and course assignments, you’ll study the anatomy of the heart, what triggers a heart attack and how a treatment team works.

This course is a university level course, designed for advanced high school students. Marine Environmental Science explores the diversity of coastal marine habitats and ecosystems and the tools scientists use to study them, with an emphasis on topics related to human impacts and environmental health.

Squash, stretch, and shade your creations to make your characters pop! Students do not need any prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching. Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer.  In this camp, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks.  No prior music experience is necessary.  Student-created soundtracks will be available on a password protected website.

Designed for our youngest Ninjas ages 5-7, this Camp inspires a curiosity in the world of electronics and physical computing. Using a micro: bit microcontroller and a Makey Makey circuit board, Ninjas will design and build a variety of interfaces, controllers, sensors, sounds, and more.
