The UM Academies provide immersive academic programs open to students who are currently in grade 9, 10, or 11 (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors). Students select one course (non-credit) to study over the two-week session.

This residential academic experience provides rising 9th and 10th graders students with a taste of college life. As a VSA student, you will live on campus and take accelerated courses with Vanderbilt professors, lecturers, and graduate students. Outside the classroom, our carefully selected residential staff members supervise the dining and residence halls, plan fun and engaging recreational activities, and help ensure that every VSA student has a fulfilling experience.

For more than 30 years, the Arizona Summer Engineering Academy (SEA) has offered summer outreach programs for rising 9th through 12th graders, as well as graduated seniors*, who want to learn more about engineering – and get a taste of life as a Wildcat!

During Pre-College, creative students will experience life at a college of art and design, while building their portfolio, and learning from top professionals, all while earning college credit. Each two-week session is open to high school students currently in grades 9 through 12. Classes fill quickly.

For the past 30 years, Clemson University has offered a summer enrichment program for gifted middle and high school students. In addition to challenging courses, we provide opportunities for fun, friendship and a Clemson experience. This year’s program has even more to offer with new classes available for all students. A balanced schedule of educational, recreational and cultural activities will help broaden your academic skills and develop your creative abilities. You’ll take exciting classes during the day while your evening and weekend activities may include nature study hikes, small group discussions with Clemson faculty, and career and educational guidance. In addition, you’ll enjoy movies, tennis, swimming, racquetball and trips to University laboratories, the John C. Calhoun House, the S.C. Botanical Garden, the Hanover House and the Clemson Forest. This summer experience will give you a taste of life as a Clemson student. Clemson University faculty will conduct your classes in University facilities. You’ll use University materials and equipment to conduct your scientific investigations. You’ll live in a semiprivate room in a campus dormitory and eat in a University dining hall. Qualified counselors will supervise dormitory life and all activities. You’ll have complete access to area medical facilities, including the University health center. If you’re an advanced high school student, the two-week classes provide a great opportunity to delve deeply into specialized topics. Rebel Research Scholars offers hands-on, faculty-led research experiences in our labs held during the summer for high school students interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

Summer College for High School Students is a four-week comprehensive program for high-achieving high school students who want to experience university life.

Make color changing potions and build volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar. Rescue animals from ice and design new habitats for them. Create mazes and engineer marble runs. Explore roller coasters and test slime recipes

It’s like Wiffleball... only with a Gruszka “curve.” Learn how to play various types of Wiffleball along with the skills needed to play each position. Hands-on coaching and skill practice will happen each day along with a daily game! Students of all skill levels are welcome to join in for an at bat and no one ever strikes out when having fun with friends at this great backyard game.
