Join middle school and high school musicians for the annual Central Methodist University Summer Music Camp. Choir camp will be held June 9-11, and band camp will be held June 11-13. Students are welcome to apply to both for a full week of fun! Students will participate in choir, band, fun music activities, and sessions with experienced professional musicians. Clinicians will consist of university professors and outstanding high school and middle school band directors. Doing both camps costs $450.

All activities will be in person and held on UMSL's campus (UMSL Music Building, Touhill Performing Arts Center). We have designed our camp for enthusiastic keyboard (piano, organ) students who want to find ways to make playing easier, to have more fun, and to take their playing to the next level of accomplishment. On campus dormitory accommodations are available for an extra cost.

Directed by Dr. Lee Nelson, director of choral activities and associate professor of music. Introduces music teachers and vocalists entering ninth grade and up to music for the Iowa All-State vocal auditions. The 3-day camp features mass rehearsals, sectionals led by veteran choral educators, and optional individualized voice instruction. Campers experience a taste of life on Wartburg’s campus and can stay overnight in Wartburg residence halls, eat in our highly rated cafeteria, and participate in group recreation activities including indoor and outdoor games, open gym and pool time at the W, and karaoke, a camp favorite. Berklee’s Music Business Summer Program is a five-day, interactive experience designed to teach aspiring artists, managers, and entrepreneurs how to launch a successful career in the music industry. Learn about the structure and key players in the music industry, as well as the primary areas of artist development–understanding music rights, revenue streams, branding, social media strategy, content creation, music marketing, and more–all of which are taught by a diverse array of established music industry professionals and Berklee’s world-class faculty. Put that knowledge and experience into action by working with real emerging artists to develop a brand and image, social media content strategy, and a rollout plan for their next release. In the culminating experience of the program, students get to pitch their ideas directly to the artists and a panel of music industry executives for feedback. Register by Jan 31 to save $200.
