The Beatles are undoubtedly one of the most important rock n roll bands of all time and their songs have greatly influenced the direction of modern music. Come celebrate the best songs from their vast collection of hits and billboard topping classics. Students at this music camp will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs from The Beatles, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

Campers will learn the music of 60s and 70s rock icons such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones in our Classic Rock music camp. In addition to rock songs, students will learn about rock history and the stagecraft needed to perform on stage. At the end of the week, students will put on a live performance. Great for students 7-18 years old who have had some previous instruction.

This camp is for students with two or more years of experience in band. Musicians will be working on skills for playing in a full ensemble through a variety of exercises and music.

Students will analyze some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years in order to develop their own tunes. They will learn about chord progressions, arrangements and other tricks of the trade. The 80s brought us a wave of new sounds and music genres, and produced hits that still rock the airwaves today. In this music camp, we’ll perform hits from artists like Billy Idol, Devo, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, Flock of Seagulls, and many more. Monday through Friday will be spent learning and practicing 80s songs, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

Taylor Swift’s impact on music is undeniable, from Country to Indie Rock. Throughout the five days of this music camp, students will learn songs from all stages of Taylor’s career culminating in a live performance. This camp features great opportunities for not only vocalists but all instrumentalists as well. Great for young musicians 7-18 who have some previous instruction.

This camp is for students who want to be in both advanced and jazz band camps. Campers will explore the different styles and articulations that jazz uses as well as basic improvisation. This camp is open to all band instruments plus guitar, bass guitar, and piano. Students who are only interested in jazz camp or who would play a different instrument for jazz camp than for advanced band camp should contact Mr. Sanft directly at esanft@LSlancers.org.

This immersive camp focuses on skill development through warm-ups, tone and intonation work, and breathing techniques. Led by experienced instructors and featuring guest artists like Jeannie Baxtresser and Keith Underwood, campers refine their technique and connect with fellow flutists, creating a fun and enriching musical experience!

Come have a great musical experience and bond with current CJA choir members! Students will spend the week honing their musical talents and working on a final performance for the last day of camp.

The SIUE Summer Jazz Camp is available for students of all experience levels in middle through high school. Campers will learn performance and improvisation techniques from faculty members in the SIUE jazz department. Students will work on the fundamentals of jazz improvisation with some of the areas top performers and educators through large group/big band rehearsals, small group/combo rehearsals, master classes, jam sessions and other course offerings.
