Calling all rising 5th-8th grade actors! Be a part of the magic of theater! Led by Whitfield drama teacher Mary Schnitzler, campers will explore the world of creative theater and learn the magic of telling stories on stage. Students will engage in dramatic games to spark creativity and develop collaboration as well as work on scripts to refine performing arts skills such as brainstorming, rehearsing, and developing interesting characters. This class is open to students regardless of experience level. The camp will culminate in a showcase of scenes.

Students will participate in auditions the first day of camp then be assigned characters, costumes, lines, and staging, all while discovering acting techniques to make them stronger performers. At the end of the week, students will perform the production for audience members. For Rising Stars: Session 2, the play we will be performing is "Storybook Court: Full of Beans"!

Get sorted by the legendary Sorting Hat, attend “classes” taught by house prefects in favorites like Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts, dive into enchanting Harry Potter–themed games, and craft your very own wand to take home. Campers should bring a lunch, a snack, and a water bottle to keep their magic strong throughout the day.

Join with friends to create your own characters and stories of Wicked through collaborative writing and monologue development. Daily craft activities are inspired by and incorporated into our Performances.
