The College of Music and Media will host the 2024 Creative Summer Experience, a comprehensive boot camp that exposes high school students to careers in motion design, graphic design, book arts, UX design, photography, game design, journalism, film and music.

Every summer, around 400 student musicians entering grades 7, 8, and 9, spend a week at Luther College to study, explore, and perform music under the mentorship of Luther’s music faculty.

The Research Mentorship Program is a competitive summer program that engages qualified, high-achieving high school students from all over the world in interdisciplinary, hands-on, university-level research. Students will be paired with a mentor (graduate student, postdoc, or faculty) and choose a research project from a long list of disciplines offered by the program each year.

The Classical Ballet Intensive is a four-week intensive from June 23–July 20, 2024. The Classical Ballet Intensive focuses on cross-disciplinary dance training and fits the needs of serious dance artists at any point in their training.

MICDS Summer Stock Theater is a specialized program focused on theatre (acting skills, production assistance, and performance). 

The Professional Studies Intensive offers a one-week deep dive into the creative process, teaching methodology, and repertory of some of today's leading contemporary dance choreographers.

In this course, you will investigate the development of movie music from the early improvised organ playing of musicians like Fats Waller for silent films to more recent music from the biggest composers in Hollywood, including Erich Korngold, Max Steiner, Henry Mancini, Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Randy Newman, and Howard Shore.

UC Santa Barbara's Summer Research Academies offer a dynamic summer experience that engages qualified high school students in project-based, directed research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences fields. Students will take a 4-unit university course in which they choose and develop a research topic specific to the track they select, under the direction of an instructor who is conducting active research in that field.

The Summer Liberal Arts Institute (SLAI) is an immersive summer learning experience for current high school sophomores and juniors to explore liberal arts through rigorous and experiential curriculum.
