These are just a few of the tricks they’ll learn in Magic Camp.  Our theme this summer is story magic.  The tricks are all new, quick to learn.  The magicians will learn to create their own presentations and stories to accompany their tricks, helping build presentation skills, confidence, & creativity.  The activities change every 30 minutes or so, as campers also learn to twist balloon animals, perform comedy magic skits, present magic puzzlers, and more!  They’ll be able to amaze their friends.  They might even become the life of the party!

This camp is designed for the younger campers. Learn magic, skits, circus skills, and other skills and silliness all resulting in a show performed by your little entertainers.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy at St. Charles Community College. Magical folks who have read the books by J.K. Rowling will enter a familiar world of delights! We also welcome Muggles wishing to learn about Harry Potter's world. Our quest is to learn about magical creatures, Quidditch dueling and other wildly interesting objects. Are you up for the challenge?

Stand up comedy is great for building presentation skills and confidence in front of a group. We start with very simple comedy such as knock knock jokes, limericks, why did the chicken cross the road, etc., so get the kids comfortable standing in front of a group. Then we progress to 2 person rapartes, story jokes, and one liners that we provide as well as that the kids invent themselves. The kids work on timing, on what make a joke funny, and on adding humor to their delivery and content.

Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixteen, it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Calling all heroes! Let’s find your superhero name, and make a cape to match. You’ll train all week to get certified as a real superhero. You’ll learn just what it takes to be an everyday superhero

Perform a full show in a week? Why, yes you will! During this intense week of acting, singing, and dancing students will create a full show under the direction of Mrs. Rowan. Paint sets, create props, become characters, and work as a team as you accomplish the nearly impossible, and have a blast doing it! This is a full-day camp; campers should register for both the morning and afternoon sessions.

It’s like Wiffleball... only with a Gruszka “curve.” Learn how to play various types of Wiffleball along with the skills needed to play each position. Hands-on coaching and skill practice will happen each day along with a daily game! Students of all skill levels are welcome to join in for an at bat and no one ever strikes out when having fun with friends at this great backyard game.

Do you like to sing and dance? Then join our summer show choir - Showstoppers! We’ll learn fun new songs and put them to dance routines to perform for an audience at the end of the week.
