The AMDA High School Summer Conservatory (On Campus) - Acting for Stage & Screen program offers an exploration into new texts and current playwrights under the direction of AMDA’s stellar faculty or working artists. This program also provides navigation through the world of on-camera acting through intensive study and performance. Students will gain an insider’s perspective on the film and television industries by working on-camera with some of the finest actors and directors in the business. By the end of the session, students will have an in-camera scene for their actor’s reel that highlights their very best. In addition to this, the session ends with an opportunity to audition for AMDA College and alternative AMDA High School Conservatory Programs as well as a final presentation for family and friends.

We’ll cover the basics of stop motion animation techniques and then dive deeper into directing, storytelling, building, editing, and designing! There will be daily challenges to learn different techniques to incorporate into one final film complete with a full story, dialogue, and main characters. The grand finale will be a mini film festival to premiere everyone’s creations. If you were in the younger class last summer, come back and build on your skills, learn more advanced techniques, and create more complex movies! And if you weren’t, we’ll quickly get you caught up and making movies.

Learn rhythm, musicality, spacing, and basic musical theatre dance steps in this dance camp for children who love Disney musicals. We dance to favorites from musicals, such as Mary Poppins and Moana, and explore a whole new world of dance. We share our dances with family and friends on the final day of camp. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo concludes with an in-person performance with family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. No previous experience or dancewear required.

Broadway Big Top concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. Campers should wear shorts or shorts under skirts or dresses. Learn hand and machine sewing techniques while we build accessories and costume pieces that will appear in COCA's Youth Musical: A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS.
