Let’s grow some fun this summer! We have plenty of dirt, insects, and plants... we just need to know how they all work together to make something beautiful and often tasty! Come garden with Mr. Gruszka as you learn how to work, compost, care for, and use a garden, big or small. Handson experience and projects will allow you to take your “budding” skills beyond the garden home with you.

Unleash your child’s culinary creativity at the Junior Chefs Cooking Adventure! Designed for young chefs in grades JK - 4th, this immersive experience combines hands-on cooking, basic culinary skills, and a flavorful exploration into the world of delicious treats. It’s the perfect blend of fun and education for your budding chef!

Hey bakers, let’s get in the kitchen and make some yummy treats. We will bake a mix of things like pies, cookies, cakes, or pizzas during the week. You will be in charge of your mixing, pouring, and decorating of each dish we bake. We will even have a bake challenge where kiddos are able to pick their treat to make for the day and we will see who creates the best dish. Are you up for the challenge?

Come and learn how to cook simple and kid-friendly meals. In this class you will learn the basics of kitchen safety and how to mix, pour, and flip. We will make a variety of sweet treats and lunch and dinner favorites, and we will create some yummy snack ideas. If you like cooking and making treats, then this is the class for you.

Have you ever wondered how candy is made? Learn how to make various classic candies just like the candy man!  From softer candies like vanilla caramels and strawberry gummies, to rich chocolate truffles and English toffee.  Make marshmallows that are easier than you think, everything but the kitchen sink bark, fudge, and cream cheese candies, oh my!

Step up and become a culinary master! Immerse yourself with advanced cooking techniques, tools of the trade, basic etiquette, nutrition, safety and even some kitchen math. Growing gourmets will be making delectable delights from breakfast to dinner. A CD of all recipes and cooking information will be given to all masterchefs. Aprons provided. Bring a water bottle each day and wear closed toed shoes. Prerequisite: Must have taken Kids in the Kitchen or have prior kitchen experience.

It’s time to level up your snack game! Nothing is better than coming home from school to your favorite snacks. But, we can do better than chips and popcorn. Learn some fun and easy ways to make amazing snacks that you can enjoy any time of day!

Executive Chef Scott Phillips '88 teaches all the basics of cooking and guides campers in the preparation of appetizers, salad, an entrée, and dessert. At the end of the week, campers will prepare a four-course meal to serve to their parents. Bon appetit!
