Join us for the Baker's Dozen session at the 2024 South City YMCA Summer Day Camp.

Come and learn how to cook simple and kid-friendly meals. In this class you will learn the basics of kitchen safety and how to mix, pour, and flip. We will make a variety of sweet treats and lunch and dinner favorites, and we will create some yummy snack ideas. If you like cooking and making treats, then this is the class for you.

Let’s grow some fun this summer! We have plenty of dirt, insects, and plants... we just need to know how they all work together to make something beautiful and often tasty! Come garden with Mr. Gruszka as you learn how to work, compost, care for, and use a garden, big or small. Handson experience and projects will allow you to take your “budding” skills beyond the garden home with you.

Hey bakers, let’s get in the kitchen and make some yummy treats. We will bake a mix of things like pies, cookies, cakes, or pizzas during the week. You will be in charge of your mixing, pouring, and decorating of each dish we bake. We will even have a bake challenge where kiddos are able to pick their treat to make for the day and we will see who creates the best dish. Are you up for the challenge?

Designed for young chefs in grades JK - 4th, this immersive experience combines hands-on cooking, basic culinary skills, and a flavorful exploration into the world of delicious treats. It’s the perfect blend of fun and education for your budding chef!

We are going to craft things up this summer. Let’s spend the week creating cool art with clay and a variety of materials. Each day we will also bake or decorate a different type of cookie themed around our art for the day. Here’s your chance to be creative in the kitchen and with crafts.

Join Rossman’s Mr. Crossland and Ms. Hutchinson for a culinary adventure! After touring the Rossman kitchen, campers will learn how to be safe and organized as they set out to prepare tasty foods. Campers will enjoy making healthy snacks, decorating cookies, and even making homemade pizzas.
