The Junior Chef class is designed for aspiring young chefs who have had at least one cooking session with Chef Margaret. Students learn advanced cooking techniques like knife skills sauce preparation and intricate presentation. We will learn ingredient selection, presentation and plating skills teamwork, and confidence in the kitchen. This is an interactive baking class focussing on artisanal dough making techniques. `Young bakers will learn to craft sweet breads like cinnamon rolls, quick breads like banana loaf, flaky biscuits, and classic pie dough. Hands on instruction guides students through measuring, mixing and shaping dough. Students take home freshly baked treats and a recipe booklet to continue their baking adventures. Students will be cooking with nature in this 5-day camp. Learn about the plants we have in our gardens, how to grow them and use them to make delicious dishes. We will explore our native Missouri plants and learn about their medicinal uses, hunt for wild edibles and learn about chickens. Only hungry kids need apply!

This is our exclusive 2025 beginner camp program for our younger campers, Girls & Boys ages 6-12. It's designed for the "first time" camper who may be a little reluctant to leave home. Our goal is to have every camper succeed so we keep camp size small (less than 60 campers) and give additional counselor support by having 2 counselors for every 5 campers.
