For more than 60 years, Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) has helped young musicians improve their artistry, strengthen their self-confidence, and embark on professional careers. Junior and senior high school students perform with large band, orchestra, chorus, and jazz ensembles or attend intensive, specialized instrumental programs. Students return home with newly developed skills, a lifelong sense of discipline, and in-depth training. Designed for junior high string students, the primary focus of this program is developing individual musicianship through a large ensemble setting.

The Iowa Summer Music Camps (ISMC) offers students musical training and experience beyond what may be available in their home schools, including group instruction, master classes, and classroom instruction in many phases of instrumental music. The entire program, together with a preview of life on a major university campus, is a valuable experience for young people, not only in music but also in human relations. Step into the world of medicine at our specialized medical camp. In your two weeks in Medical Rotations, you’ll experience a hands on STEM camp by reading X-ray images, reviewing lab tests, and practicing skills like intubation, suturing, and differential diagnosis in cutting-edge simulation labs.

Campers will explore different types of sciences, including ones not normally taught in middle school or high school. Relevant, fun, hands-on activities will be taught by our nationally recognized Virginia Tech professors and staff.

If your idea of summer fun is a deep-dive into the STEM fields, join other rising 9th and 10th grade students who are as passionate about advancing their knowledge of the STEM disciplines as you are for two weeks of hands-on team research projects, experiments and design-build challenges. You’ll choose from a range of interesting and engaging courses in the STEM disciplines. Each course combines rigorous academic content, laboratory or field exercises and a research project or design challenge that serves as a focus for academic work. You may also have the opportunity to engage with Brown graduate students and learn about graduate-level research projects. To complete the STEM experience, you’ll give a final presentation that showcases your project for your peers, families and instructors. You will experience the satisfaction of advanced academics and indulge your love of learning, without the pressure of formal grades.

Aggie STEM Camps are one-week camps designed to encourage the exploration of STEM-focused project-based learning (PBL). Camps are geared towards students entering 6th through 12th grade in the Fall of 2025. Each summer has a new camp theme, with new PBL (project-based learning) STEM classes campers are sure to enjoy. Our camps are led by STEM professionals and A&M faculty. While Aggie STEM camp has a heavy focus on promoting STEM learning, it’s still a summer camp with plenty of fun activities to create lasting memories and connections.

Knowledge Enrichment for Youth (KEY) is a one-week summer residential program for young people who are intellectually curious and excited to learn.

At Summer Scholars, students will engage in hands-on, immersive courses in their field of choice taught by Clemson instructors during the day. Afternoons include free time which can be spent exploring campus, attending a campus tour, or meeting a representative from Admissions or Clemson University Honors College. Evenings feature many of the recreational activities Clemson students enjoy and may include a show at the planetarium, counselor-led activities, and and end-of-camp celebration!

Working with professional veterinarians and technicians in this veterinary summer camp program, diagnose animal diseases, check vital signs, learn to suture wounds, splint broken limbs, perform life-saving CPR, and “read” animals for both injury and illness.

Ready to take your FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) skills to the next level? GLObotics is the ultimate workshop for students looking to dive deep into advanced robotics topics. Explore Java programming, master CAD basics, and understand the physics behind torque and gear ratios.

Do you get tired of the same old thing summer after summer? If the answer is “yes” then you may want to attend Imagination. You will be introduced to the exciting and fun “stuff” we do at Virginia Tech. We have engineers, scientists and college students ready to help you explore the world of science, technology and engineering . . . Not by watching, but by DOING! You will learn about the engineering design process as you build your own devices and participate in hands on activities exploring the many different aspects of engineering. Rising 7th or 8th graders are invited to apply. Preference will be given to first time applicants.
