Georgetown's Economics Policy Academy provides an interdisciplinary exploration of the complex role played by states and other governing entities in relation to markets, through the lens of both economics and political science. You will study theoretical concepts from both fields and practice applying them to real-world problems—both in the U.S. and abroad—to assess the situations and evaluate policy solutions. By the end of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of not only the key philosophical and theoretical concepts behind an economic policy which affect all facets of our life, such as price interventions and regulations, but also the main issues the U.S. economy faces today.

A summer program for rising high school freshmen from the St. Louis area.

Campers will explore different types of sciences, including ones not normally taught in middle school or high school. Relevant, fun, hands-on activities will be taught by our nationally recognized Virginia Tech professors and staff.

Step into the world of medicine at our specialized medical camp. In your two weeks in Medical Rotations, you’ll experience a hands on STEM camp by reading X-ray images, reviewing lab tests, and practicing skills like intubation, suturing, and differential diagnosis in cutting-edge simulation labs.

At Summer Scholars, students will engage in hands-on, immersive courses in their field of choice taught by Clemson instructors during the day. Afternoons include free time which can be spent exploring campus, attending a campus tour, or meeting a representative from Admissions or Clemson University Honors College. Evenings feature many of the recreational activities Clemson students enjoy and may include a show at the planetarium, counselor-led activities, and and end-of-camp celebration!

For more than 60 years, Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) has helped young musicians improve their artistry, strengthen their self-confidence, and embark on professional careers. Junior and senior high school students perform with large band, orchestra, chorus, and jazz ensembles or attend intensive, specialized instrumental programs. Students return home with newly developed skills, a lifelong sense of discipline, and in-depth training. Designed for all senior high vocalists, this program focuses on strengthening musicianship and acquiring individual artistry by exploring the unique treatment of the elements of vocal music by Black Americans in a choral setting.

In Georgetown's Forensic Science Academy, you'll gain a firsthand look at the world of forensic science from professionals in the field—including investigators, detectives, crime scene technicians, and pathologists. Topics covered will include crime scene diagramming, evidence collection, criminal investigative process, and video forensic analysis, to the ethical dimensions of issues faced by today’s criminal investigative professionals. Various exercises, class interaction, case studies, lectures, discussions, mock crime scene creation, and examination have been developed to provide exposure to Criminal Forensic investigation. Test your critical thinking skills by identifying and interpreting the evidence as you explore the application of science and medicine in law enforcement.

Do you get tired of the same old thing summer after summer? If the answer is “yes” then you may want to attend Imagination. You will be introduced to the exciting and fun “stuff” we do at Virginia Tech. We have engineers, scientists and college students ready to help you explore the world of science, technology and engineering . . . Not by watching, but by DOING! You will learn about the engineering design process as you build your own devices and participate in hands on activities exploring the many different aspects of engineering. Rising 7th or 8th graders are invited to apply. Preference will be given to first time applicants.

Chamber Music is one of the unique features of the FAMU summer band camp. Our chamber program will offer students opportunities to perform music in smaller settings that relates to woodwind, brass, and percussion ensembles. Jazz Music is American music that is characterized by Improvisation, Syncopation and rhythmic forward motion known as Swing. This music has its roots in the African American communities in New Orleans in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Elements of jazz can be found in most of today’s popular music. Studying jazz music is beneficial to the development of a well- rounded musician. Campers who participate in either of these camps will receive an introduction to the music industry and music production. They will receive instruction and learn more about the Business Structure, Compositions (songs), Recordings, Media, Broadcast, Soundtrack & Streaming. Live music (promoter influences), Artist management (representation and staff), Emerging business modes (home studio, laptop, Pro Tools Apple Computer, Spotify, and Google Play. Our goal is to ensure campers leave our campus knowledgeable about streaming platforms, and online music services, and the vast data that is processed.

The National Security & Intelligence Academy brings together unparalleled government and international relations resources from the Georgetown network to explore security and intelligence issues. You'll gain a deeper understanding of how policies enhance the security of Americans in the post-9/11 world, study how the United States prevents foreign adversaries from gaining access to national security information, and examine how intelligence information is collected, analyzed, and disseminated.

In this program, students will learn the fundamentals of the field of marketing through an intercultural lens, at both the business and personal levels. From traditional marketing to social media and influencing, students will hear from industry experts about their pathways and career highlights. They will see what a real-life marketing firm looks like and practice using techniques and tools used by industry professionals. By the end of the program, students will create and pitch their own marketing campaigns and learn to better pitch their unique skills and aspirations.

Although there is an underlying universality to the basic principles of business, the application of these principles presents unique challenges to those involved in international business. The Global Business Academy is designed to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of global business. In the program, you’ll explore current drivers of international business including the globalization of business linking markets, companies, and financial markets; the growth and importance of technology; and the emergence of national economies. You’ll also examine institutions important in international business including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization.
