Georgetown's Economics Policy Academy provides an interdisciplinary exploration of the complex role played by states and other governing entities in relation to markets, through the lens of both economics and political science. You will study theoretical concepts from both fields and practice applying them to real-world problems—both in the U.S. and abroad—to assess the situations and evaluate policy solutions. By the end of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of not only the key philosophical and theoretical concepts behind an economic policy which affect all facets of our life, such as price interventions and regulations, but also the main issues the U.S. economy faces today.

Students return home with newly developed skills, a lifelong sense of discipline, and in-depth training. Designed for all senior high vocalists, this program focuses on strengthening musicianship and acquiring individual artistry by exploring the unique treatment of the elements of vocal music by Black Americans in a choral setting.

Chamber Music is one of the unique features of the FAMU summer band camp. Our chamber program will offer students opportunities to perform music in smaller settings that relates to woodwind, brass, and percussion ensembles. Jazz Music is American music that is characterized by Improvisation, Syncopation and rhythmic forward motion known as Swing. This music has its roots in the African American communities in New Orleans in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Elements of jazz can be found in most of today’s popular music. Studying jazz music is beneficial to the development of a well- rounded musician. Campers who participate in either of these camps will receive an introduction to the music industry and music production. They will receive instruction and learn more about the Business Structure, Compositions (songs), Recordings, Media, Broadcast, Soundtrack & Streaming. Live music (promoter influences), Artist management (representation and staff), Emerging business modes (home studio, laptop, Pro Tools Apple Computer, Spotify, and Google Play. Our goal is to ensure campers leave our campus knowledgeable about streaming platforms, and online music services, and the vast data that is processed.
