Little medical school brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way. Students will explore how the body works and the brain thinks. They will partake in the delight of hearing a real heartbeat, and best of all, will practice tying knots like a surgeon! In addition, each child will receive their own stethoscope, lab coat, and will be given the opportunity to make a model of the brain. Most importantly, our programs aim to inspire children to aspire for careers in healthcare upon completion of the course.

This summer, help your child become a confident, enthusiastic reader in the Summer Reading Skills Programs, offered through Saint Louis University, and designed and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Campers will build their very own geodesic dome large enough for the entire camp to sit in. Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts with bird feeder building and our super bug investigation. Speaking of birds, what did Hooty the owl have for dinner? A mouse? A Squirrel? A Frog? Kids will dissect owl pellets and reconstruct Hooty’s dinner. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions to create cool sidewalk chalk and bath fizzers! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines, and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of photography and make their own chromatography-dyed T-shirt. It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

Give your young innovator an inspiring, action-packed summer adventure! All-new, hands-on challenges will spark their curiosity and build their confidence as they jump into limitless STEM fun with opportunities to imagine, plan, experiment, and create. Read more about what your camper will do each day at camp: PROBLEM SOLVING Campers explore physics, design, engineering and art as they build their own mini skate park, create DIY riders, personalize their mini skateboards, and try out challenging features like ramps, bowls, jumps, and rails. CREATIVITY To create an epic celebration, campers become event planners who engineer light-up party hats, use the science of color to create a bubble art banner, and invent a Party Assistant to help bring their plans to life. PERSISTENCE Campers transform their own robot into a one-of-a-kind animatronic stuffie, and then use inspiration from nature and the power of intellectual property to protect their creation from an idea-stealing copy cat. ENTREPRENEURSHIP Ideas pop up as campers launch their own pop-up business, make smart financial decisions, and use entrepreneurship skills and creative strategies to attract customers with the ultimate pop-up event.

Summer fun on the tennis court and reading groups offered in partnership with St. Louis Public Library. Curriculum focused on developing life skills, athletic skills, and tennis skills while promoting enjoyment of reading, keeping minds and bodies active over summer recess. Players of all levels welcome.

A camp for those who love to read! Campers will be split up by age and given short stories, books, and poems to read and talk about. It’s like a book club with art projects that go along with your books!
