The Ithaca Writers Institute is a place where promising high school student writers come together to celebrate, study, and practice the creation of literature, laying the foundation for a successful life of writing. Taught by a distinguished faculty member of the College’s Department of Writing, with teaching assistance from the department’s most talented undergraduates, the curriculum mirrors the department’s own unique curriculum, giving aspiring young writers an immersive experience in an authentic college atmosphere.

Crayola® World of Design Camp Think it! Draw it! Make it! Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola® products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mixed media. Discover design careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and product design. All this, plus games, creative free play, and more! Note: This is a full-day program. All campers will participate in morning and afternoon programs.

Make sure your student has the skills from last school year to be successful next year!

Get ready to blast off into the world of rockets and discover the amazing science behind them. You'll become a rocket safety superstar by learning all about the model rocket safety code. You'll also uncover the secrets of how rockets soar through the sky, stay perfectly balanced, and return safely to Earth. Each day, you'll get to build a rocket from a sleek and awesome Mad Science rocket kit to a rocket made of toilet paper tubes – how cool is that? You'll also be part of a real launch team! Imagine working together with your new friends as altitude trackers, launch preparers, and launchers. Every day, you'll watch in awe as we send a rocket soaring high into the sky.

Great for children entering 2nd - 5th grade. Children entering K-1st grade will enjoy it as well with a little more help from fellow campers or instructors.

Note: Our camp includes everything your child needs during the camp. However, if you wish to continue your child’s interest in rocket launches at home, you will need to purchase a launch kit online or from a store.

Note: The description is based on a full-day camp. The half-day camps may not include all of the listed activities but will still be packed with lots of fun science!
