Create the next popular animated Minecraft video on YouTube! Practice the same skills professionals at Pixar and Disney Animation Studios use. Discover the process of keyframing and tweening, how to use it to bring your own animated stories to life, and how to publish your content on YouTube. Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Break the sound barrier on a supersonic jet, deliver cargo by train, and explore a swamp in your airboat. Build and create different modes of transportation out of more than 20,000 pieces of LEGO®, all while learning about the engineering concepts that make vehicles and vessels work.

Camp participants adopt a plush feline patient and learn how vets help take care of pet cats. These future veterinarians will learn how to perform a tip- to-tail exam, suture lacerations, to setup a litterbox and safe areas for their pet, make cat toy, and more!

Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that both new and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.

This equine camp is for you! Become a vet for a week and learn all about the care and maintenance of a horse. Take an oath and use real medical tools to keep your newly adopted plush horse happy and healthy. After learning about horse anatomy, riding styles, and nutrition you can ride into the sunset with your diploma. Giddyup!

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Together, campers will build a geodesic dome large enough to sit in. Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts with bird feeder building and our super bug investigation. Speaking of birds, what did Hooty the owl have for dinner? A mouse? A Squirrel? A Frog? Kids will dissect owl pellets and reconstruct Hooty’s dinner. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions to create cool sidewalk chalk and bath fizzers! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines, and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of photography and make their own chromatography-dyed T-shirt. It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

Learn about lions, elephants, sharks and more, and find out how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the globe. Experiment with a variety of art techniques, and use Crayola® products to create animal-inspired art projects, from frog paintings to polar bear sculptures! Let your creativity run wild, and bring your handiwork home to build a menagerie of animal-themed masterpieces.

Led by Whitfield faculty, staff and alumni counselors, campers engage in hands-on activities, projects and experiments each day from 9am - 3pm.

First Session is a great way to try camp for the first time! In our traditional camp program, campers’ days are split between fun programs with their bunkmates and daily activities (chugim) of their choice. Campers sign up for new chugim each week based on their own interests.
