The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is a year-long college preparation program for high school juniors who are interested in journalism. For the summer of 2024, the program will take advantage of lessons learned during our three virtual summers to offer our first ever multi-week, hybrid summer intensive, which will culminate in our annual 10-day residential institute on the Princeton University campus in New Jersey.

In the American Politics Academy, you’ll take an in-depth look at the three branches of government through a blend of lectures and debate exercises. You’ll learn about the important role that political parties, public opinion, and special interest groups can have on shaping political behavior and decisions while exploring how America’s changing culture impacts political movements and, ultimately, federal, state, and local policies. You’ll have opportunities to hear from key elected officials, Capitol Hill staff, lobbyists, and policymakers who will join class discussions on congressional campaigns, legislative priorities, and emerging national issues.

From nationally recognized attorneys and prosecutors to politicians and judges, many of the nation's lawmakers and legal experts received their education at Georgetown. As a student in the Law Academy, you will follow in the footsteps of these distinguished legal professionals and explore your passion for the law with expert faculty, enthusiastic mentors, and talented peers who share your interests.

Learn more about the world around and policies that affect your day-to-day. This course will provide students with an understanding of the programs, regulations and legislation that pertain to food production, food sovereignty, food safety, food security, dietary guidance, nutrition surveillance and assistance in the United States at the federal, state and local levels.

The study of the mind, this course seeks to introduce students to the study of cognition through a review of data and theories on the topics of perception, role behavior, motivation, small group processes, communication, attitudes, reasoning, and decision making. Emphasizing working with diverse populations and developing strategies to promote social, emotional, psychological, and physical health students will be challenged to explore how these realms of health impact individuals and families and work through solutions.

This course introduces students to the science of the brain, including areas of perception, attention, and memory, with an emphasis on the role of health and behavior. Students will explore psychiatric disorders and research methods, amongst which are patient-based testing, psychophysical scaling and animal modeling.

This summer, learn to navigate the college experience with the University of Maryland’s Terp Young Scholars. During three remarkable weeks, academically talented students pursue an academic interest, engage with passionate faculty, and get a jump on college by earning three university credits.

Designed for fearless and inquisitive young minds, the STEMinist track is perfect for students looking to develop their STEM skills in both lecture and laboratory settings. In this program, you will be able to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in motion through field trips and projects. In addition to your coursework, this program begins to address some of the inequalities that women face in the STEM field and how our students can begin to rewrite the narrative with their presence.
