It is time to push your experience in LEGO® Robotics beyond vehicles that roll. In a Makerspace setting, students will design, build and test robotic prosthetics using LEGO® EV3 kits, iPads and raw building materials. Come see what it takes to walk, reach, and grasp.

You’ll get the chance to fly multiple drones to take high-quality videos with Maryville's Communications Professor. You will also get to experiment with electronic video stabilizers, take off and land a professional drone, and learn flying techniques to capture great video. You’ll even get to shoot and edit your own mini-movie that you can share with your friends and family.

In the STEM INNOVATOR Course students will participate in the following two activities. Lunch is included with the cost of registration along with exposure to Maryville's campus and college experiences. Virtual Reality ~ Explore the advancing technology of Augmented and Virtual Reality using Quest 2 Headsets and create virtual worlds of their own through. Students can build their own 3D creations, animate them with code, and share them with friends and family in a virtual space. Virtual and Augmented reality has given us the ability to travel the world, discover underwater life, explore space, and even operate on cadavers, all from the comfort of a classroom or our own homes. Robotics ~ Challenge your own creative and collaborative robotic problem solving skills with this course. Build robots with LEGO’s new SPIKE Prime kits that can accomplish a variety of tasks. Each day will bring a new engineering challenge which students will learn how to solve. Engineers will build a robot to solve that challenge and then program it to do their will! What will you create? Wearable technology, a room alarm, a dancing robot, a personal robot assistant? The possibilities are endless! We will assist and guide you as you work through the Engineering Design Process on your mission. The world is waiting for you to reveal your robotic engineering creations this summer!

Creative Contraption Warning! This is a camp designed by you--the Inventor! Each day you'll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from the world of famous inventors, and the most important thing of all--your mind. With a little bit of ingenuity, you'll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, construct a mini boat, and assemble a working light saber to take home. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun!

Ever dream of becoming a secret agent? We'll start with the basics: From decoding messages to metal detector and night vision, campers have the opportunity to check out spy tech equipment and take home lots of gadgets like spy glasses! Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis! Figure out the science of forensics in a hands-on look at crime scenes! Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks as we take a hands-on investigation of the science that spies use! Note: Students will participate in 4 out of the 5 described classes at the instructor's discretion

Crayola® World of Design Camp Think it! Draw it! Make it! Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola® products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mixed media. Discover design careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and product design. All this, plus games, creative free play, and more!

STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) will be woven through each camp segment ensuring that all our Maker’s interests are met. Each week will have a new theme for campers to explore. These segments are designed to be fun, experimental and educational.
