Step into the future with an immersive journey through virtual reality and 3D creation! In this class, students will use Meta Quest headsets to explore breathtaking virtual environments, learning how VR transports us to new worlds. They’ll get hands-on with Merge Cubes, which bring holograms to life right in their hands, allowing them to interact with 3D objects in real-time.

Design Camp offers the chance to learn about the design professions through hands-on design projects, tours, discussions and other activities created by Fay Jones School faculty who teach the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior architecture and design. In the school-guided camps, students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and collaborate with peers in a fun and creative on-campus studio or virtual studio environment as they explore the design process. This camp is completely remote and will use an online learning platform with all of the Design Camp lessons imbedded, where students will be able to access the projects and videos and upload their work.

You’ll join peers from around the globe to build your portfolio, deepen your understanding of contemporary art-making, and earn college credit. Experience dynamic virtual demos, engage in group critiques, and receive the ideal blend of one-on-one meeting time with faculty and independent exploration in this world-class summer art and design program. Course options: Animation and Video Projects, Fashion Design, or Graphic Design.

The Illinois Aerospace Institute (IAI) summer camp is a one-week on-campus camp with two session offerings in the summer and a one-week virtual program held over Zoom. Students may attend only one of the offerings. The IAI summer camp is for students entering grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about the field of aerospace engineering through hands-on projects, classroom lesson content, field trips, and guest speakers. The Aerospace Engineering Department prefers the placement of Juniors and Seniors in the on-campus camp.
