A hands-on experience for students interested in exploring what it takes to create an engaging game, and develop characters and projects in our 3D fabrication studio.

Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox’s Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with your own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

In this Black Rocket classic, you will go well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes and create an immersive 3D world. Students will learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling the flow of gameplay, and storytelling. Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Projects are only compatible with Windows devices. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

It’s like Wiffleball... only with a Gruszka “curve.” Learn how to play various types of Wiffleball along with the skills needed to play each position. Hands-on coaching and skill practice will happen each day along with a daily game! Students of all skill levels are welcome to join in for an at bat and no one ever strikes out when having fun with friends at this great backyard game.

Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind camp.  Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods.  Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft.  Projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this camp.  Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible.  Returing students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.

Come and join our exciting “offline” video game experience where we give the controllers a rest and put your building skills to the test as we bring your favorite characters from the virtual world to the real world. Using LEGO®, we will build worlds for Mario to jump through, mechanisms to make Sonic spin and take down Robotnik, as well as your own custom Smash Bros. arenas to battle in. Under the guidance of a Play-Well instructor, you will gear up to take down the final boss. Are you game?

This course is for the absolute beginner, who most likely has had no prior exposure to coding. No prior coding experience is required but basic QWERTY keyboarding skills are helpful. The goal of this camp is to use game play to motivate the value of students acquiring basic coding skills, to develop a foundational familiarity with the JavaScript language, build an understanding of gaming logic and architecture involving game engines, and play the games! Upon completing this camp, attendees should: • Better understand their own personal interest in developing further coding skills and knowledge • Have established a strong knowledge base for extending their coding ability either via further coursework or self-directed study • Have gained direct technical experience with fundamental programming structures; sequence, selection (if’s or decisions) and repetition (loops), variables and data types • Have gained direct technical experience with gaming concepts and game engines This is a great, low-stress opportunity for students to encounter technology and program development for the first time. No prior programming experience required – basic keyboarding ability (QWERTY) and nothing more. Camp attendees must bring their own computer; Windows or Apple / Mac work equally well. iPads/tablets will not work.

Grades 3-8. St. Louis' elite volleyball camp, where we put the FUN back into FUNdamentals. Since 1989, No Limits Camps have instructed over 10,000 volleyball players in the St. Louis area.

Games, Games, & More Games! Join us for ultimate game week! We have a huge variety of Giant Life Sized games to play. Campers will also create some of their very own games to take home and play. Field Trip to Rock N Jump.

Students will participate in the following two activities. Lunch is included with the cost of registration along with exposure to Maryville's campus and college experiences.
