 Champ Camp was founded in 1975 by National Field Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame Coach Debby Watson and has been providing excellent training and lasting memories ever since as it moved to the MICDS campus under the direction of Lynn Mittler. The camp is structured on the principles of instruction and play, offering players a great opportunity to be coached by top high school coaches and current college players. A mix of technical training and scrimmaging allows players to learn and try out their new skills. Utilizing the field dedicated for the exclusive use of women’s field hockey, campers train on our water turf field to facilitate the speed of skill execution on an optimal surface.

Coach Thomas is also a former college tennis player and a Division 1 college coach, and he has coached State Champions, National and Professional Players, and he is on the coaching staff at MICDS. Coach Walker is a graduate of the tennis teaching program at Tyler Texas, and he has coached college tennis, high school tennis, State Champions, and National and Professional Players.
