Through a summer camp experience, NextED Challenge provides young adults an opportunity to challenge their expectations of living on their own. Attendees participate in hands-on learning, interactive group activities, and community exploration.

Join us at the 2023-2024 Y- Club After School Enrichment Program at Iveland Elementary School, where students are invited to participate in a community of students who are striving to achieve the best versions of themselves.

Campers are invited to explore a vast and playful indoor/outdoor learning environment. Session themes are developed by our team of teachers and experienced early childhood specialists who understand how to create fun and inviting activities for all children. Kids enjoy themed activities, P.E., and swim instruction. The theme for this session is Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Coursers choose from a wide variety of engaging activities (arts, sciences, hobbies, etc.) and a range of sports (soccer, swimming, yoga, and more) to build a personal schedule that matches their individual interests.

Make this a productive summer for you at the MICDS Youth Leadership Institute (YLI). Do you know a rising 7th to 10th grader looking to take their leadership skills to the next level? Look no further! YLI’s summer program is designed to empower young leaders to harness and develop the skills and confidence needed to make a positive impact in their community and prepare for the next steps in their education and beyond.

The 9th Grade Bootcamp combines Science, English, and Math courses in a full-day experience for rising 9th-grade students. Through these classes, students are able to review and strengthen skills in each discipline that are critical for success as an Upper School student, and prepare for the year ahead. Students may sign up for the Bootcamp or take one or two classes individually. The schedule and course descriptions are below:

The STEM 1.5 course is designed both to allow students a review of previously-learned content and to preview content covered during the first semester of Science 10. Using a variety of lab-based lessons, we will cover important content and skills. During the first week, we will cover 9th grade (mostly end-of-the-year) chemistry skills that are required understanding for moving into 10th grade science. We will have a chance to go over the end of year 9th grade exam, identify areas of strength and weaknesses, and then focus our time on strengthening those skills. The primary focus is on atomic structure, periodic trends, electron configurations, balancing equations, and mole calculations. Week 2 is primarily a preview into the skills needed at the start of 10th-grade science. We will primarily focus on stoichiometry. 

This camp will focus on the fundamental game of baseball. We will set a tempo to ensure each athlete has the opportunity to display their athleticism while learning and growing their knowledge and confidence in the game.
