This class will teach the fundamentals of theatre to children ages 13-18 years old. They will learn concepts such as projection, audition skills, improvisation, memorization, performing in front of peers, diction, confidence, teamwork, characterization, and so much more. We will spend class time learning these foundational concepts concurrent with rehearsals for the show in which this class will culminate. Students will benefit from this class through not only all of the skills they will obtain in relation to theatre, but also, real life interactions, empathy, and collaboration. (Ages 13-18)

This class will teach you how to take an idea and turn it into a profitable business that any young adult could do. Students will create a business to sell items at the college. This will include how to market and finance the business, produce the products and selling the product. The last part of the class will look at what students have learned and how they can take their ideas and put them into a business plan. (Ages 10-14)

This class is an across-the-board look at some of the engineering degree programs that are available at Missouri S&T. Students will engage in hands-on activities that expose them to the major ideas and concepts in a field of engineering. (Ages 13-18)

Perfect for kids (ages 3 & 4) who are new to group settings, these weeklong (Mon–Fri*) sessions in our motor-play room are led by a speech language pathologist and OT from our team and focus on helping kids manage their emotions and use their words through play, crafts, and tons of fun in a small group setting.

For kids preparing for a confident start to kindergarten (ages 4 & 5), these weeklong (Mon–Fri) sessions are led by a speech language pathologist and OT from our team and focus on developing group skills (winning/losing, social pragmatics, etc.), fine motor skills (writing, cutting, etc.), attention skills, and other readiness skills.

Engaging with nature has been shown to strengthen the connection between a child and their body in ways that are hard to replicate indoors. Led by two OTs from our team who will focus on building up motor skills, balance, and flexibility and promoting cognitive development, self-confidence, and self regulation, these fun outdoor sessions are designed for preschoolers (ages 4.5–6). For teens and young adults, this summer session embraces growth outside the clinic with different outings each day. We will focus on developing conversational skills (active listening, clear communication, etc.), functional life skills (safety, problem solving, stress management, etc.), and social skills (understanding social cues, navigating social situations, etc.). This great offering will empower participants to practice real-world skills with a group of their peers, assisted by caring and supportive leaders.

Our Camps are designed to help improve the player’s technical skills while having fun. CORE is truly the next evolution of Soccer Camps with their series of “Technical Training Grids”. During the week these Grids help our staff evaluate progress of player development. Each grid contains a different technical skill for the player to learn, understand and develop throughout the week. Each day we will introduce many challenging and exciting games related to these technical skills.

This 8-week summer LitShop session engages participants in creative, hands-on coding experiences using Micro:bits, Makey Makeys, and Scratch to build confidence and interest in computer science through storytelling and design. Students will explore coding fundamentals by creating interactive projects such as a real-life “Operation”-style game using Makey Makey circuits, coding a doll or character to speak using Scratch animations, and designing games or simulations with the Micro:bit Scratch extension.
