Live and study at the University of Oxford, experiencing the traditions and academic rigor of Corpus Christi and University College. Join us for two or four weeks this summer to live and learn at the University of Oxford, enjoying the full Oxford experience, from academics to history and culture. On this high school program, students reside and study at two of the University of Oxford’s oldest and most storied colleges: University College and Corpus Christi. Set in the historic city center, each college offers a distinctive window into collegiate life at Oxford. Founded in 1249, University College is known for its striking medieval architecture, enclosed quads, and connection to literary legends like Percy Bysshe Shelley and C.S. Lewis. Just a short walk away, Corpus Christi—established in 1517—offers a more intimate setting, with one of the university’s oldest libraries and views over Christ Church Meadow. This experience fosters a deeper connection to the university and the city itself, bringing the spirit of Oxford to life in a way that few summer school programs can match. Over the course of the program, students develop crucial skills to help them excel in future studies, gain insight into potential academic or career paths, and foster lifelong friendships along the way.

From the emergence of roller derby in Chicago in the 1930s to the 2025 Roller Derby World Championships held in Innsbruck, Austria, two things have remained unchanged: quad skates and athleticism. This course examines transformations in the history of roller sports with a specific focus on roller derby over the past century. We will discuss the origins of roller derby, analyze the significance of gender and racial integration in the sport in mid-twentieth century, dive into the roller derby craze of the 1970s and 1980s, and explore the rebirth of roller derby in the 2000s. In addition to reading about derby and watching historical and contemporary bouts, we will also conduct oral history work by engaging with the founders and leaders of current borderless roller derby teams, including Black Diaspora Roller Derby, Jewish Roller Derby, and Fuego Latino.

Let your artistic talents bloom at Saint Mary’s Fine Arts Camp, where art meets imagination! During this week-long camp designed for middle school and upper elementary-aged girls, campers will explore and develop their artistic expression in so many ways: in the classroom, on the stage, learning from professionals, and through many unique camp experiences throughout the week. Campers will have the opportunity to experience 12 exploration classes in six fine arts disciplines: theatre, music, dance, puppetry, and two different kinds of studio art. They will also select one of the disciplines for a more hands-on, focused artistic development through performance classes. Each afternoon, the performance classes take a deeper dive into their chosen discipline and work together towards the capstone event of the camp, our Performance Forum. At this event, campers get to showcase for family and friends their amazing Fine Arts Camp journey. Whether you have been singing or dancing for years or just starting out on your artistic journey, Fine Arts Camp is a special place where your inner artist can blossom!
