You have never been to a day camp like Heartland Camp’s. We jam-pack our days full of awesome activities and have created an environment where campers can grow together as children of God. With our Christ-centered focus, exceptional college-age counselors, and highly active programming, day campers love the time they spend at Heartland. In addition to our activities are morning Bible studies and afternoon worships. Our counselors journey with their small group of campers through a weekly curriculum. We tie our lessons to crafts and games to help our campers comprehend just how much God loves them.

This is the perfect camp for a first-time overnight camper! This camp is a half-week (Wednesday Evening to Friday Afternoon), making it ideal for trying camp. Since it is a shorter camp, the days are packed with fun activities; horseback riding, archery, swimming, Bible study, and nightly worship. The camp is housed in Oak Place or Trask Lodge, . All are outfitted with air conditioning and electricity so camp will have the comforts of home (helping with any staying away from home jitters!). Expect to leave these days of camp with new friends, stories of adventures, and camp songs to sing!

Get ready to blaze a trail for adventure! This camp is a bit longer than our Explorer camp, going Sunday through Wednesday. It is excellent for first-time campers and campers who are experienced at Heartland. You will love riding horses, swimming in the pool, shooting archery, singing camp songs at the top of your lungs, and playing camp games at every turn. Since this camp is a bit longer, you have more time to develop Christ-centered friendships through the camp activities and the daily Bible study and worship.

Camper vs. Wild is hands down the best way to explore the outdoors and enjoy God’s creation at Heartland Camp. This camp is full of camp activities (horseback riding, ropes course, swimming), meals cooked over the campfire, and even a night hammocking underneath the stars! All these outdoor adventures lead to camp friendships that last way past the last day of camp. Camper vs. Wild is led by staff who desire to serve Jesus Christ, build relationships with campers, and make sure each camper has the best week of their summer at camp. This is a 5-night camp housed in our popular Hogans.

This camp is perfect for every curious 4th-6th grader. Creek walks, crazy experiments, nature hikes, and incredible building challenges happen daily. EXPERIENCE science and engineering challenges in God’s creation! Not to mention, you will still get to take part in camp activities like Bible study, horseback rides, the giant swing, archery, and swimming. Campers will learn about and experience God’s creation in a new way. They will also experience God’s love through the relationships formed at camp.

Explore God’s creation at Heartland Camp from horseback. You’ll be partnered with one of our experienced trail horses as you learn western riding, basic horse care and enjoy being immersed in a Christ-centered community! You’ll also enjoy the fun activities of camp (swimming, high ropes, archery) and will participate in cooking meals over a campfire. This is a 5-night camp and is housed in our Hogans.

Do you like staying up late and sleeping in? The good news is, God’s love is 24/7! The unique schedule of this camp may be just what you are looking for. Life for a Night Owl camper begins with breakfast at “lunch time,” lunch at “dinner time,” and cooking a late dinner over the campfire under the stars. Night Owl campers will enjoy a wide range of camp activities like high and low challenge courses, field games, archery, night swims, night hikes, night games and worship. There is plenty of time to get to know others, yourself, and God by the light of the moon!

One of our most unique camps is gearing up for its 12th adventure. Campers get to go on a unique adventure each year, racing and completing challenges at Heartland, in Kansas City, and another city in the Midwest! This year’s city will be announced this fall so stay tuned! No athletic skills are needed to get through this race, though a good amount of walking is involved. In addition to our AMAZING road trip adventures, you will have classic camp experiences like Bible study, swimming, group time, campfire worship, night games, and more. As you race with your small group, you will gain leadership skills, accomplishing challenges that make the daily Bible study themes come alive. We take the intentional Christ-centered community that makes camp incredible into the “real world,” allowing you to put your faith into practice. When at Heartland, campers will be staying in our retreat lodges.
