COCA theatre artists guide performers through all the steps of acting in a theatre production. We develop an understanding of character development and relationships through acting games and lessons. Then, we memorize short scenes, build simple props, and polish our performance skills. Act Up concludes with an in-person production for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. If your camper is curious about buildings and loves to try to figure things out, working on design might be just the thing! Campers identify the materials and geometry found in architecture and discover how big buildings are really made up of smaller parts. Then, they explore how it all comes together through drawings and basic 3D model making as they imagine buildings of their own creation. Architecture Basics concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Beginner-level dancers explore some of the world's best loved ballets using movement, art, and stories. They learn basic steps to classical ballets, such as Coppélia, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty, as they focus on technique. Get inspired and create art projects and props related to favorite story ballets. At the Ballet concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. Students should attend with ballet shoes. No additional dress code, and no previous experience required.

Can’t wait for the next superhero movie to come out? Let’s create a new story ourselves! Campers explore the exciting stories and powers of superheroes like Batman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Thor, and Superman to create sets, costumes, and visual art pieces. We use these famous characters as inspiration to create superhero (or supervillain) identities of our own. Then, we weave our characters together to bring to life a new superhero universe. Batman & Beyond concludes with families receiving a digital link to their camper's work sent the week following camp. Features multiple professional teaching artists to present a variety of arts disciplines.

Upcycle a wide range of materials like wood boxes, cans, and jars to create and decorate bird and butterfly houses using bright colored paints or natural materials. Then, shift gears to create a fairy house from twigs, and use pinecones, acorns, dried flowers, and moss to add your own magical touches. Birdhouses Butterflies & Fairy Fun concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

They make leaf prints, build stepping stones, create rock mandalas, explore natural weavings, and watercolor garden landscapes in this STEAM camp. They go on walks to source materials to augment their creations and learn about the history and traditions of outdoor expression. Catch Some Sun concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

The lessons of this camp span the worlds of magic, circus, comedy, science, and gags. We learn many impromptu skills, such as how to balance a sheet of newspaper on our nose and make a catapult out of a spoon, a Mentos geyser, and much more. This is the perfect camp for the future class clown or anyone who loves to be just a little bit silly. Class Clown concludes with an in-person demonstration for family and friends the final 20 minutes of camp.

Want to learn how they made The Boxtrolls or Shaun the Sheep? We try it step by step. Working in small teams, we write a short scene, create a corresponding storyboard, and build clay characters and a set to bring it all to life through the video art of claymation. Claymation concludes with families receiving a digital link of their camper's work sent the week following camp. Art and technology supplies and equipment use included in price.

Learn about the costume design process by reading Shrek The Musical KIDS and creating ideas for character looks and garments. We explore images of costume designs from a variety of styles, practice rendering and illustration, learn to measure and fit costumes to actors, and create a sourced costume from costume storage. We learn hand and machine sewing technique while we build accessories and costume pieces that will appear in COCA's production of Shrek The Musical KIDS.

Future songwriters work with a professional songwriter/musician to create lyrics and melodies that express their ideas. They select accompaniment on the piano or guitar and can even choose to have other campers sing back-up vocals. They rehearse our collective and individually composed songs and then take a field trip to record them at Clayton Studios. They also work on graphics associated with our songs and style. Demo Creations concludes with families receiving a digital link of their camper's work sent the week following camp. Price includes field trip and studio use.
