A “zine” is a small homemade magazine that features original writing and collages to express specific interests and explore subjects. Students will learn about the history of zines in culture and produce their own; they’ll be able to write, interview one another, and design their own handmade publications, which will then be photocopied for them to distribute as they wish. Taught by an ECC English and Media Studies professor. (Ages 12 – 16)

Give your teddy bear a creepy makeover by joining Halley Murray as she uses simple circuitry to light up your favorite stuffy with LED eyes. In this two-session workshop, learn the components of an electrical circuit and apply this knowledge to modifying a stuffed animal. Bring your own stuffy from home or use one sourced by the shop!
