The Commonwealth Honors Academy is a three-week academic enrichment experience held every June on Murray State University’s main campus in Murray, KY. You’ll live on campus while you take college-level honors classes and participate in fun activities and seminars to help you grow personally and socially. Aside from academics, CHA gives you the opportunity to make friends with intelligent, enthusiastic, and energetic students from different areas and with different backgrounds.

Our on campus IN FOCUS Seminars expose students to top former and current Northwestern affiliated instructors highlighting themes relevant today. These two-week certificate seminars are structured like a college seminar course. Seminars feature discussions, readings and study; enabling a rich learning experience. Once you successfully complete your seminar you will receive an official Northwestern University transcript and certificate. Students earn a Satisfactory "S" grade by attending and participating in all classes, and completing all assignments. IN-FOCUS courses include access to our "Wildcat Connect: Get Ready Series." This series adds an additional robust co-curricular component to your schedule outside of the classroom with interactive workshops that will prepare you for college and integrate you into the Wildcat community!

Inspired by the hit Netflix movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, campers will step into the spotlight and save the world - all in the same week! Learn showstopping dance moves, sing like a star, and perform as though the fate of the world rests on your shoulders... because with demons on the loose, be ready for the pop showdown of the century!

Where the world of musicals meets the world of magic! This camp is all about bringing the enchantment of Broadway, diving into iconic songs, scenes, and choreography from magical shows like Harry Potter, Matilda, Frozen and more. Whether you're flying through the air with Elphaba, battling monsters with Percy Jackson, or conjuring up your own Broadway magic, this camp will spark your imagination and build your performance skills in a fun, supportive environment.

From auditions to curtain, young performers will experience the entire process of putting on a fully staged show. Hone your singing, dancing, and acting skills, learn about staging, sound, lights, set, and costumes, and put it all together in a full-scale production. There is no audition required! Casting will take place within the first week of rehearsal. As part of the process, actors will receive audition training and practice!

Is your camper a creative storyteller? Do they enjoy coming up with their own unique storylines, dialogue, and characters? Are they looking for a creative outlet that allows them to innovate and explore with others? This is the camp for you! Improvisation is a style of acting that is executed without a script. This is a foundational skill for any stage actor, as they have to think on their feet, collaborate with scene partners, and build their confidence to make strong acting choices! This camp will support growing actors in building these skills, and will also grow their passion for performance along the way.

Performers get all the glory, but a show is nothing without costumes, props, and sets! This creative element of theatre is often overlooked, but there is fantastic artistic endeavors to be had in the world of theatrical design. Students will design costumes, build set design models, construct props, and paint backdrops for their favorite shows. In this camp, students will learn what it takes to put a musical on the stage from the tech side!
