This camp focuses on the creative process and illustration behind fashion design; it does not include garment construction or sewing technique. Campers look at classic and contemporary master artists from a different area of our globe each day. Then, they use that work to inspire creations as we paint, draw, and sculpt—as individuals and in small groups. From Chéri Samba to Katsushika Hokusai and Frida Kahlo, we look at art history and our own work through a global lens. Global Art Explorer concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Aspiring dancers learn hip-hop steps and connect them with freestyle steps of their own creation to put together high-energy group choreography. Students gain an understanding of dance concepts, such as rhythm, musicality, spacing, and levels. They also create a hip-hop “crew” name and design a T-shirt. Hip-Hop Basics concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp.

Campers focus their work on learning horror stage makeup techniques to transform into characters from haunted houses. They learn to give themselves the illusion of cuts, bruises, and scars, and create monster and zombie characters. They use latex, bruise wheels, stage blood, and highlight/shadow techniques and their own face as a canvas. Horror Makeup concludes with families receiving a digital link to their camper's transformations sent the week following camp.

Find your green thumb and take a turn at gardening. Campers utilize COCA's outdoor spaces to investigate both real and imagined gardens. They learn the basics of gardening and plant their own flower and herbs. In the Garden concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Create incredible obstacle courses and challenge your fellow campers to move around the room—but avoid the floor (which is, of course lava!), and don't touch the (laser) strings. Climb, balance, swing, and jump...whatever you do, don't slip! We compete every day for the most complicated maze and the fasted maze completion. Lava & Lasers concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Campers who love to play LEGO video games are inspired by this opportunity to learn and apply stop motion techniques to their love of LEGO. We develop simple stories in two-person teams, envision and build a LEGO cast and “set,” and then learn and practice stop motion to tell our stories entirely out of LEGO. Legomation concludes with families receiving a digital link of their camper's work sent the week following camp. Art and technology supplies and equipment use included in price.

Cool off from the heat with some frozen winter fun. Campers are inspired by their favorite movies as they sing and dance, create "snow" sculptures, and decorate winter capes. Through storytelling, acting, and visual art activities, campers explore and inhabit characters like Elsa and Olaf and create their own characters to add to the fun. Let it Go Let it Snow concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp.

Experiment with a range of organic and structure patterns using ancient techniques and cool new materials. We piece together images using blocks of color in a variety of media, such as paper, tissue, found objects, leaves, bark, and stone. Using this technique, students create beautiful wall hangings as well as personal items like boxes and picture frames that express their view of the world around them. Mostly Mosaics concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.

Campers utilize COCA's outdoor space to investigate both real and imagined gardens. They make leaf prints; build stepping stones; and create rock mandalas, natural weavings, and watercolor flowers. Nature to Art concludes with campers bringing home the work they created.
