Singers work on vocal technique and performance skills in this pop music camp. We learn to sing with expression and confidence while working on posture, vocal production, and breathing. Then, create fashion accessories to wear when you perform. Whether you are a fan of Selena Gomez, Beyoncé, Lizzo, or Lady Gaga—your favorite pop diva knows how to accessorize and so will you! Each day, we explore and practice all three arts disciplines as we work together to collaboratively create a mini-production. Sing Dance Act culminates in a musical revue from popular, family-friendly musicals, including Encanto and Shrek. Aspiring dancers explore the elements of freestyle as we learn high-energy group choreography to popular contemporary music. Using hip-hop dance elements, such as breakdancing and pop locking, we put together a dance that showcases our own special talents and creativity. Finally, we create a hip-hop “crew” name and design a T-shirt to wear in a performance. Street Dance concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp.

Inspired by our favorite pop musicians, campers write lyrics and melodies, work on performance skills, and create a fashion accessory to wear in this pop music creation camp. They learn a group number and perform individual songs; rehearsals focus on singing with expression and confidence. Swiftie Songwriters concludes with an in-person performance for family and friends during the final 20 minutes of camp. Explore the marvels of the ocean floor as we sing like Ariel. Using visual art activities, drama, and movement, we create a world of starfish, imaginative sea creatures, coral reefs, and other watery wonders. We might even meet our favorite mermaid—anything is possible when we use our imaginations! Under the Sea concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers become explorers and create their own backyard adventure! We decorate backpacks, create maps, solve mazes, and go on a scavenger hunt. Along the way, we learn some Spanish phrases and sing “We Did It.” Camp ends by going on a final adventure with family and friends. Vamanos! concludes with campers bringing home the work they created. Campers are expected to be fully toilet trained and use the toilet independently. Sign up for Crescendo Youth Choirs’ Summer Choral Experience! Welcoming singers in grades 1st-12th for a FREE day camp on Saturday, August 1st from 12pm-4pm at Kirkwood Baptist Church. The camp will end with a presentation for friends and family at 3:30pm. Come enjoy a FREE afternoon of singing, learning new songs, snacks, games, and connecting with faculty and peers from the Crescendo Youth Choirs! New singers can also audition for the 26-27 season.

Founded in 1989, PROMYS is a residential program held on the campus of Boston University with approximately 80 high school students and 25 undergraduate counselors.
