Ear training, song structure, rhythm patterns and group playing are all part of this week-long introduction to music. In this music camp, students will learn about all the different rock instruments and begin their introduction to music theory and music appreciation. This camp is designed for 5 to 7-year-old students who have little to no experience with music. This three-day camp runs Monday through Wednesday.

Starting in the early 90s, Pop Punk became a popular music genre that dominated the radio. It has produced bands like Green Day, Paramore, Blink 182, No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, and many more that will be featured in this music camp. Students will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs, all culminating in a live performance at the end of the week. Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

The 90s were one of music’s most important decades as grunge and alternative music took over the airwaves and popular culture. Come celebrate bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Weezer and many more in our Best of the 90s music camp. Students will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs from the 90s, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 7-18 years old who have had some previous instruction.

In this 5-day music camp, students will learn and play music from some of the most popular artists of the 21st century, including Foo Fighters, Amy Winehouse, Imagine Dragons, Paramore, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more. Monday through Friday will be spent learning and rehearsing songs culminating in a live performance at the end of the week. Great for students 7-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

Get a close look at what our keepers at the Sanctuary do by learning the nitty-gritty of caring for our resident animals! Junior keepers will try their hands at making parrot enrichment, playing the “training game”, and getting up close and personal with emus, owls, parrots, and more!

Learn about different raptor adaptations and skills. Campers will play games and learn how to be a citizen scientist for birds found in our own backyards. Plus, have a chance to meet some exotic species not found here in Missouri!

Step into the world of animal professionals! Campers will learn about careers like veterinarians, animal trainers, shelter staff, and wildlife conservationists. Activities include training techniques, creating animal habitats, and role-playing as rescue workers. By the end of the week, campers will gain a deeper appreciation for how people care for animals and may even discover a future career path!

Little Creek Summer Camp (LCSC) is about more than fun in the sun, camp games, and singing songs. LCSC provides current 3rd through 5th graders from the Ferguson-Florissant School District the opportunity to develop important life skills, explore a passion for the environment, and avoid summer learning loss by participating in experiential programs focused on STEM and literacy skills.
