Join us for our annual Science with Santa event! Celebrate the season with hands-on learning and holiday cheer. Families can travel between self-led science experiment stations, enjoy a snack, and spend special time with Santa himself! Each station includes easy-to-follow instructions and all the materials you need so you can go at your own pace. Make and take home your own slime, explore light refraction, take on LEGO building challenges, and much more. We’re bringing back fan-favorite experiments from past years and adding exciting new ones for even more scientific fun. More than just a photo op, this event offers a unique opportunity for one-on-one time with Santa while engaging in interactive, educational activities the whole family will love. Adults attend free. Please note: Adult supervision is required at all times during the event.

Earn-A-Computer introduces young people to the inner workings and possibilities of computers and the internet — all while getting set to take home a refurbished computer system at the end of six class sessions. Like our other offerings, this free course is geared for students ages 8-17. Each class session is an hour and a half long.

Families attend an overnight program at the Saint Louis Zoo.

This program is geared towards students in 6th – 12th grade that are learning from home. Unlike the younger group of ECO Homeschool Adventures, this is a drop off program. Learn specialty techniques and skills for living and surviving in the wild. This class will include bush knife skills, cordage making, and friction fires.

Why do engineers care about simple machines? How do such devices help us solve problems? Simple machines are vital in our world, and we use them on a daily basis, like crowbars, wheelbarrows, highway ramps, fans, elevators, and even butter knives. The same principles of simple machines used by ancient engineers to build pyramids and aqueducts are employed by today’s engineers to construct towering buildings, supersonic airplanes, and everything in between. Get hands-on with a mechanical engineer to learn how simple machines are all around us and how they’re used.

Peek into the secretive world of espionage in Spy School! Students will explore how real-world intelligence agencies gather and analyze information. We’ll dive into Human Intelligence (HUMINT) by practicing observation, disguise, and the art of blending in; crack secret messages using Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) through codes and ciphers; and investigate Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) by analyzing maps, photographs, and other visual clues. Put your spy skills to the test through hands-on missions, challenges, and investigations!

Explore coding and robotics concepts using XRP robots.

Through mindful movement, reflective and creative reading and writing, and engaging circuitry and woodworking projects, participants will enhance their confidence and self-esteem.
