Students will build LEGO® creations from WeDo® Education, turning them into robots programmed to do exactly what they tell them to do. Robotics 101 uses drag-and-drop icon-based programming and offers an introduction to the fun of building with LEGO® Bricks. Additionally, the students will face the challenge of computer programming some pretty awesome robots that will equip them to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. They will also have fun playing camp-style games and a few LEGO® building challenges. Get your student ready for a fun, action-packed week that combines real-life skills with real-kid fun! Each student will also take home a LEGO® mini figure.

Become a paw-some veterinarian! Camp participants will roleplay the key responsibilities in a vet office and learn how to care for their plush canine patients. These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, perform a nose-to-tail exam, understand proper animal nutrition and hydration, decode dog body language, and more!

Discover the Monticello Sculpture Gardens at LC! In this class, students will explore LC’s many gardens and learn about plants and nature through creative, hands-on activities. Students will learn how to propagate, grow and take care of plants, explore the greenhouse, hike through the trails and prairies on campus, and learn about plant ID, insects and local pollinators. Students will also create art with plants, including dying bandanas with natural plant dyes, floral arranging, and botanical preservation. This class will be held primarily outdoors unless there is inclement weather, and students should come prepared with water, sunblock, hats, and sturdy shoes.

Use Python to practice more advanced coding techniques and design a simple text adventure game. Explore specific coding ideas like loops, checks, and debugging.

You will learn to experiment and explore using a variety of media such as paper, cardboard, found objects, felt, yarn, etc. You will learn processes in printmaking, fibers, and bookmaking to create sculptural forms that are functional or displayable.

Inspired learning today - healthy futures tomorrow! Camp participants will roleplay the key responsibilities of a doctor and learn about vital organs in the human body. These future doctors will learn how to use a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and reflex hammer. They will practice administering first aid, learn how pharmacists play a role in administering medications, and more!

Step into the big leagues! Participants will discover the all-star team behind their favorite athletes! From physical therapists to nutritionists, get a peek at how the pros stay in top shape. Plus, learn how to treat common sports injuries and stay extra hydrated. We'll even delve into Tommy John Surgery!

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! Together, campers will build a geodesic dome large enough to sit in. Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts with bird feeder building and our super bug investigation.
