Clay Games and Selfies Air Clay Building with Celeste Grayer Morning Session 10:00 AM - 11:45 PM(need supply list!) We will practice techniques like pinched forms and coil building to learn different ways of handling clay. We will play some games to learn about texture and use our clay tools to explore texture on the surfaces of our sculptures. After our sculptures dry, we will use paint to experiment with the ways color can be used to change a surface. Lunch Break 11:45 - 12:15 Who are you? A Portrait Class with Jill Kuanfung Afternoon Session 12:15 PM - 2:00 PM Do you like to tell stories with your artwork? Do you wish portraits were about more than just drawing faces? Spend the week thinking about new ways to draw yourself! Draw your hair as a galaxy! Paint yourself as an angel! Turn yourself into an animal, a flower, a bug, or an alien! In this camp, we will learn about artists like Mequitta Ahuja and Gabriel Garcia Roman as we ask ourselves what makes us unique. Throughout the week, we will use all types of two-dimensional tools such as colored pencils, pastels, and watercolors to draw and paint ourselves in ways that focus on the things that make us special, weird, creative, and fun.
