Camp Pegasus - Tech Trek (Rising 7th-9th graders)- Session

Gain authentic scientific experiences and explore your creativity through exciting software, technology, and state-of-the-art computer and science labs at MICDS. Creative experts who share your enthusiasm for both technology and the wonders of science will lead the way to an excellent summer! Each session offers four engaging classes that every Tech Trek camper attends. Age: Campers entering 7th-9th grade welcome! Session C: July 11-22 Survivor Strengthen your real-world survival skills through basic orienteering, foraging, toolmaking, and fishing. Work in teams to overcome challenges that you could face in the wild. Enjoy scavenger hunts, rock climbing, fishing, a cookout, and more! You’ll have so much fun, you’ll never want to be rescued. Advertising Genius What does it take to market a product? Learn how to turn an idea into a successful product everyone wants to buy. From brainstorming a product to producing your marketing campaign, you’ll go through all the steps to making your ideas a success – even down to a catchy jingle. Video Game Design Create a professional-looking video game using game authoring systems that put you in creative control. Add multiple levels to expand the challenges. You’ll be dreaming of new games overnight. With so many options, this class is a blast to repeat. Campers will need to have a parent-approved email account and know their password to fully participate. Forensics Solve a mystery or two as you explore the world of forensic science. Collect and analyze fingerprints, hair, and (fake) blood samples. Examine handwriting and fiber samples, and learn to preserve a crime scene as you figure out “whodunnit.”
